Prayers.

Fairfax's Estate.

ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to enable the Lord Fairfax to raise and discharge several Sums of Money, charged by the late Lord Culpepper, upon his Estate: And that Mr. Harcourt do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Duke of Ormond's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for enabling James Duke of Ormond to raise Money, by Sale of Woods, and making Leases for Lives, renewable for ever, for Payment of Debts, and for encouraging English Plantation in Ireland; and for Charles Lord Weston Earl of Arran, in the Kingdom of Ireland, to make Leases of his Estate in the said Kingdom; was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill, with the Amendments, do pass.

Ordered, That Mr. Gwyn do carry the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the same, with some Amendments: To which Amendments they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Milson's Estate.

Mr. Brotherton reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill for vesting certain Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, late of Charles Milson, deceased, in Trustees, to sell, for Payment of Debts and Legacies; and to lay out the Surplus-money in Land, for the Use of Edward Milson, and his Heirs, according to the Will of the said Charles Milson; was committed, That they had examined and considered the same, and made some Amendments; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Earl of Nottingham's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the Exchange of certain Advowsons, between the Bishop of London and the Earl of Nottingham, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Dolben, Sir John Phillips, Lord Ranelagh, Mr. Hedger, Sir Wm. Ashurst, Mr. Campion, Mr. Brotherton, Mr. Moncton, Mr. Gwyn, Sir Math. Andrews, Mr. Tho. Privilege.

A Complaint being made to the House, That, Yesterday Morning early, one Thomas Baily came and brought a Letter to Robert Moncton Esquire, a Member of this House, at his House in Vine-street; and immediately set upon and assaulted him; and that thereupon, the Door being shut, several other Persons, viz. John Brown, and * Broun, his Son, Richard Vaughan, and Thomas Pye, in a violent manner, broke open the Door, and forced into the said Mr. Moncton's House, and assaulted him and his Family; in Breach of the Privileges of this House;

Ordered, That the said Thomas Baily, John Brown, * Brown, Richard Vaughan, and Thomas Pye, be, for the said Breach of Privilege, taken into the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House.

Lord Holles' Debts.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, an Act for the speedy Satisfying of the Debts of Francis late Lord Holles, deceased, was read a Second time.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Sale of the Estate of Francis Griffith, late of London, Scrivener, deceased, for Payment of his Debts, without any Amendments.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Ordered, That Sir Stephen Evance do attend, in his Place, upon Wednesday Morning next: And that then the Petition of Sir Thomas Peshall Baronet, relating to him, be read, and taken into Consideration.

Privilege—resusal to pay Fees.

The House being acquainted, by the Serjeant at Arms attending the House, That Anthony Morin and James Anderson, after they were, Yeasterday, ordered to be discharged out of Custody, paying their Fees, had refused to pay any thing, and endeavoured violently to make their Escapes; whereupon, he having sent them back to his House, they had broke several Doors, and spoiled his Goods, and endeavoured forcibly to go away; and abused, assaulted, and beaten his Servants; in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That the said Anthony Morin and James Anderson, be committed to the Gatehouse, for the said Breach of Privilege.

Ordered, That the said Anthony Morin and James Anderson be prosecuted by Mr. Attorney General, for the said Misdemeanors.

Commissioners of Accounts.

Mr. Norris reported from the Committee appointed to examine and peruse the Lists given in by the Members of the House, of Persons to be Commissioners for examining and taking the publick Accounts; and to report upon whom the Choice should fall; That they had examined and perused the Lists accordingly; and that the Choice fell upon

Mr. Moyle reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for examining, taking, and stating, the publick Accounts of the Kingdom, to commence from the Expiration of the present Commission, was committed, That they had not filled up the Blanks therein for the Commissioners Names, leaving the same to be filled up by the House; and had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were read.

Whereupon, before the First Blank in the Bill was filled up with the Names of the said Commissioners, Mr. Pelham stood up, in his Place, and made it his Request to the House, That he might be excused of the said Employment.

Resolved, That the said Mr. Pelham, at his own Request, be discharged from being a Commissioner for taking and stating the publick Accounts.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, proceed to a new Election of a Commissioner, in the room of the said Mr. Pelham.

Ordered, That the further Consideration of the Report of the said Bill be adjourned until To-morrow Morning.

Duty on Glass.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the several Petitions of the Glass-makers were referred, be made upon Wednesday Morning next.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France, for the Service of the Year 1697.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Resolved, That this House will, upon this Day Sevennight, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of Ways and Means for raising the Supply granted to his Majesty, for making good the Deficiency of the Provision for Payment of the Interest of the Transport-Debt, for the Reducing of Ireland.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
