Trotman's Estate.
AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act
to vest certain Lands, late of Samuel Trotman Esquire,
deceased, lying in Barking, Eastham, Westham, and Woolwich, in the Counties of Kent and Essex, in Trustees, to
be sold; and to settle other Lands, in lieu thereof; was
read a Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to the Lord Norreys, Mr. Campion, Sir Hen. Colt, Mr. Chadwick, Mr.
Ash, Mr. Baldwyn, Sir Fran. Masham, Mr. Colt, Mr.
Brotherton, Mr. Bickerstaffe, Mr. Blofeild, Sir Cha. Carteret, Lord Powlet, Mr. Denton, Mr. Bertie, Mr. Lowther,
Mr. Denz. Onslow, Sir Wm. Honywood, Mr. Dolben, Sir
Robert Cotton, Sir John Phillips, Sir Edward Norryes,
Sir Geo. Hungerford, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Portman, Sir Tho.
Day, Mr. Richard How, Mr. Henly, Mr. Pinnell, Mr.
Paget, Mr. Clerk, Mr. Foley, Sir John Bucknall, Colonel
Crawford, Sir Gervas Elwes, Mr. Gwynn, Mr. Monson,
Mr. Herbert; and all that serve for the Counties of Kent,
Essex, and Oxon: And they are to meet this Afternoon
at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.
Importing Goods from Turkey.
Mr. Molyneux, according to Order, presented to the
House a Bill for Importing of several Goods and Merchandizes, laden, in Turkey, on board the Ships called the
Successe and Dragon Prizes, paying Customs as if imported by English Ships: And the same was received.
The Bill was read the First time.
Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.
Raising the Militia.
Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to
raise the Militia of this Kingdom for the Year 1697,
although the Month's Pay, formerly advanced, be not
repaid: And that the Lord William Powlet do prepare,
and bring in, the Bill.
Privilege.
Ordered, That the Report, from the Committee of
Privileges and Elections, upon the Petition of Richard
Vaughan, be made upon Saturday Morning next.
St. Paul's Cathedral.
The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to
consider of the Bill for the completing the Building and
adorning the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, London.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Dolben took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Dolben reported from the said Committee, That
they had gone through the Bill, and made several Amendments; which they had directed him to report, when the
House will please to receive the same.
Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow
Morning.
Preventing Exportation of Wool.
The House, according to Order, resumed the Consideration of the Clause, to be added to the Bill for the
more effectual preventing the Exportation of Wool; and
the Debate touching the ingrossing the said Bill:
And the Clause was read a Second time:
And a Motion being made, and the Question being put,
That the Clause be made Part of the Bill;
It passed in the Negative.
Ordered, That the Debate touching the Ingrossment
of the said Bill be further adjourned until Friday
Morning next.
Ordered, That a Clause be brought in, to make the said
Bill more effectual:
And it is referred to Sir Rowland Gwyn, Mr. Clarke,
Mr. Culliford, Sir Hen. Hobart, Mr. Morris, Mr. Gwyn,
Sir John Elwill, Sir Walt. Yonge, Lord Pawlet, Mr.
Pelham; or any Three of them: And they are to meet at
Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.
Punishing Mutiny and Desertion.
The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to
consider of the Bill for continuing several former Acts for
punishing Officers and Soldiers who shall mutiny, or desert
his Majesty's Service; and for punishing false Musters;
and for Payment of Quarters; for One Year longer.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Colonel Wharton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Colonel Wharton reported from the said Committee,
That they had made several Amendments; which they
had directed him to report, when the House will please
to receive the same.
Ordered, That the said Report be made upon Thursday
Morning next.
Supply Bill; Deficiencies, and Bank Stock, &c.
Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning,
resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to
consider of the Bill for making good the Deficiencies of
several Funds, therein mentioned; and for inlarging the
Capital Stock of the Bank of England; and for raising the
publick Credit.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow
