Prayers.

Ship Charles.

A BILL for the Ship Charles Fly-Boat, of Exeter, to trade as a free Ship, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Fortescue, Sir Robert Eden, Mr. Hoblyn, Mr. Hoar, Mr. Yates, Sir Barth. Shower, Mr. Crane, Mr. Dyot, Mr. Gwyn, Mr. Mounstevens, Sir Edward Seymour, Mr. Clayton, Mr. Cox, Sir Tho. Day, Mr. Tredenham, Sir Rich. Cocks, Mr. Clark, Mr. Boscawen, Sir Robert Cotton, Mr. Hancock, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Blofeild; and all that serve for the County of Devon: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.

Rabesnier's, &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the Naturalization of Theophilus Rabesniers, and others, was read the First time.

Resolved That the Bill be read a Second time.

Westminster Corn Market.

A Petition of divers Inhabitants of the City of Westminster, in behalf of themselves, and the rest of the Inhabitants of the same City, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That the said City, being very populous, and situate upon the River of Thames, is capable of being supplied, by Water-carriage, with all Sorts of Bread and Corn, at cheaper Rates than now they have it by Land-carriage, which is a great Expence to the Petitioners, and a Hardship upon the poorer Sort of People; the Occasion of which is, the want of a convenient publick Market, for Persons to bring their Corn to, near the said River: And praying the House to relieve the Petitioners therein, by a Bill, or otherwise, as they shall think fit.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for a Corn-Market, to be within the said City, near the River of Thames: And that Sir Robert Marsham and Mr. Freeman do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Lower's, &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill to naturalize William Lower, William Darnell, and Peter Godby, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to naturalize William Lower, William Darnell, and Peter Godby.

Ordered, That Mr. Hoblyn do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Price's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill to enable Edward Price Esquire to transfer a Charge of One thousand Pounds, for the Use of his younger Children, from an Estate in the County of Montgomery, to an Estate in the Counties of Hereford and Radnor, of better Value, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to enable Edward Price Esquire to transfer a Charge of One thousand Pounds, for the Use of his younger Children, from an Estate in the County of Montgomery, to an Estate in the Counties of Hereford and Radnor, of better Value.

Ordered, That Mr. Price do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Ayre and Calder Navigation.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill to make the Rivers Ayre and Calder, in the County of York, navigable, was committed, be made upon Monday Morning next.

Hamborough Company.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition relating to the Hamborough Company was referred, be taken into Consideration upon this Day Sevennight.

Sedgmore Drainage.

A Bill for opening the ancient Roynes and Watercourses in Sedgmore, in the County of Somerset, for rendering the said Moor more healthful and profitable to the Inhabitants, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Hoar, Sir Richard Farrington, Mr. Clark, Mr. Gwynn, Sir Tho. Day, Sir Rich. Onslow, Mr. Rowney, Mr. Duke, Mr. Crane, Mr. Thornhagh, Mr. Dyott, Mr. Philips, Sir Fran. Windham, Mr. Yates, Mr. Hunt, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Blofeild, Serjeant Coward, Sir Tho. Travell, Colonel Kirkby, and all that serve for the Counties of Dorset, and Somerset: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.

Army Arrears.

A Petition of Ann Kaworth, Widow of Captain George Kaworth, deceased, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That her said Husband was Captain in Colonel Fardinando Hastings' Regiment of Foot, till the time of his Death; for which Service a great deal of Pay was due to the Petitioner's Husband; but neither he, nor the Petitioner, ever could get the same, nor any Part of his Subsistence-money; nor can she bring the said Colonel to an Account: so that the Petitioner, thereby, is reduced to very low Circumstances, and must have perished if she had not been relieved by the Charity of her Friends: And praying Relief in the Premises.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Soldiers of Colonel Coot's Regiment is referred.

Army Arrears.

A Petition of the Commission-Officers of the several Regiments disbanded last Year was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That they have spent the best Part of their Time and Fortunes in the late War, for the Service of the Nation; and many of them, having Families to maintain, and nothing but their Pay for their Support, are reduced to great Straits, since their Disbanding: And praying the House to take their Condition into Consideration, and afford them such Aid and Subsistence, for the Support of themselves and Families, as shall be thought meet.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of the whole House, who are to consider of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

Half-pay Officers.

Ordered, That the Earl of Ranelagh do, upon Thursday Morning next, lay before this House a List of the Names of the Officers disbanded the last Year, or to be disbanded this Year, according to the Establishment.

Elections— preventing Irregularity in Returns.

An ingrossed Bill for preventing irregular Proceedings of the Sheriffs, and other Officers, in making the Returns of Members chosen to serve in Parliament, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for preventing irregular Proceedings of Sheriffs, and other Officers, in making the Returns of Members chosen to serve in Parliament.

Ordered, That Mr. Clark do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Sir John Bolles, according to Order, reported, from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill to restrain the Number of Officers sitting in the House of Commons was committed, the Amendments, made by the Committee, to the said Bill; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

And other Amendments were made by the House to the Bill.

Russian Trade.

A Message from the Lords, by Mr. Meredith and Sir Richard Holford:

Mr. Speaker.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act to inlarge the Trade to Russia, with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

East India Company.

Ordered, That the Bill brought in upon the Petition of the Governor and Company of Merchants of London trading to the East-Indies be read To-morrow at Twelve a Clock; and nothing to intervene.

Elections—qualifying Votes.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Monday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for qualifying Members to sit in Parliament; and further regulating Elections.

Poor Laws.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom it was referred to consider of Ways for the better providing for the Poor, and setting them on Work, be taken into Consideration upon Saturday Morning next.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.
