Prayers.

Waslyd's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the enabling Cyriac Weslyd Esquire to sell some Part of his Estate, which by Articles upon his Marriage, was agreed to be settled upon his Wife and Children; and for the Settling of other Part of his Estate, of better Value, to the same Uses; was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Half-pay.

A Petition of Captain William Conn, late of his Majesty's Regiment of Foot, commanded by the Honourable the Marquis de Puisar, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That he hath served the Crown upwards of Twenty Years in Tangier, England, Ireland, Flanders, and the Straits in the Year 1695, where he was deprived of his Sight; and so was forced to quit the Regiment for his Recovery: And praying he may be included in the general List of Officers that are to receive Half-Pay.

Ordered, That the said Captain Conn be added to the List of Officers that are to have Half-Pay.

Okeover's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Thomas Okeover Gentleman, Son and Heir apparent of Rowland Okeover, of Okeover, in the County of Stafford, Esquire, together with the said Rowland Okeover, to make a Jointure, and Settlement, upon the Marriage of the said Thomas Okeover, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Catharine Leeke, an Infant under the Age of One-and-twenty Years, to settle and dispose of her Estate, upon her Marriage, is committed:

And that Mr. Pagitt, Mr. Slater, Mr. Dyott, Mr. Brewer, Sir Abstr. Danby, Sir Wm. Coriton, Mr. Conyers, Sir Thomas Grovesnor, Mr. Molineux, Sir John Gerrard, Mr. Vivian, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Offly, Mr. Newport, Mr. Randyll, Mr. Jolliffe, Mr. Brotherton, Sir John Manwareing, be added to the said Committee.

Copper Coinage.

Mr. Lowther reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill to prevent the Coining of Farthings and Halfpence, for One Year, was committed, That they had made some Amendments thereunto: which they had directed him to report to the House; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Mr. Lowther also acquainted the House, from the said Committee, That they had heard the Contractors for coining Copper Half-pence and Farthings; and that the Committee had directed him to move the House, That the Account of the said Contractors may be stated, and made up; and that, if it shall appear they are Losers by their Contract, a Compensation be made for the same.

Moor's Estate.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Sale of the Manor of Halwell and Becket, in the County of Devon, the Estate of John Moor, for Payment of Debts, without any Amendments:

Writs of Error.

And have also agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for limiting certain Times, within which Writs of Error shall be brought for the reversing Fines, Common Recoveries, and ancient Judgments, without any Amendments:

Darcy's Estate.

Also have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for Sale of some Part of the Estate of Sir Thomas Darcy, deceased, for Payment of Debts, without any Amendments: Also,

Blackwellhall Woollea Market.

They have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for the making more effectual an Act, intituled, An Act to restore the Market at Blackwell-hall to the Clothiers; and for regulating the Factors there; with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House: Also,

Bull's Estate.

They have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable John Bull, an Infant, to sell his Lands in Kent, for the Payment of Debts and Annuities charged thereon; and for Provision of younger Children: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Defective Titles.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Lords, to remind them of the Bill, intituled, An Act for the general Quiet of the Subject against all Pretences of Concealments, Encroachments, or other defective Titles.

Ordered, That Mr. Thursby do carry the said Message.

Suppressing Lotteries.

A Bill for suppressing the Royal Oak Lottery, and all other Lotteries, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Lowther, Mr. Clerke, Mr. Offley, Mr. Perry, Sir Richard Cocks, Sir Godfrey Copley, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Hancock, Sir Wm. Villers, Mr. Moor, Mr. Heysham, Mr. Gorge, Sir Abstr. Danby, Mr. Eyre, Sir John Bolls, Mr. Carteret, Sir Richard Farrington, Sir Henry Parker, Mr. Harcourt, Lord Pawlet, Mr. Blaake, Mr. Scobell, Mr. Yates, Mr. Harvey, Mr. Hoar, Mr. Jolliffe; and all that serve for the Counties of Middlesex and Surry: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Ordered, That such Petitions as have been presented to the House, relating to the said Bill, be referred to the Consideration of the said Committee.

Encouraging the Fithery

Ordered, That the Bill for establishing and regaining the Fithery be read a Second time upon Saturday Morning next; and nothing to intervene.

Officers and Soldiers to exercise Trades.

A Bill to enable such Officers and Soldiers as have been in his Majesty's Service, to exercise Trades, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Godfrey Copley, Mr. Offly, Mr. Thornhaugh, Mr. White, Sir Richard Farrington, Mr. Thurland, Mr. Selwyn, Mr. Gurdon, Mr. Eyres, Sir Samuel Bernardiston, Mr. Kirkby, Mr. Parkhurst, Mr. Brotherton, Sir John Thorold, Mr. Jolliffe, Mr. Freeman, Lord Cornbury, Mr. Rowny, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Harcourt, Sir John Mordant, Mr. Hughes, Sir Fran. Ways and Means.

The House, according to Order, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Cowper took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Cowper reported from the said Committee, That they had made some Progress in the Matter to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to fit again.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Saturday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

Claims for Prizes.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of Captain Crow was referred, relating to Prizes, be taken into Consideration upon Tuesday Morning next.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight a Clock.
