An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for naturalizing Sir David Collier, Isaac la Mellioniere, Peter de Belcastel, and William Rejatore, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Lowther, Colonel Byerly, Lord Cornbury, Mr. Heveningham, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Osborne, Sir Henry Ashurst, Mr. Brotherton, Mr. Foley, Sir Stephen Leonard, Captain Blisse, Sir John Mordant, Mr. Bridges, Sir Richard Farrington, Colonel Crawford, Mr. Dryden, Mr. Moor, Sir John Cope, Mr. Blaake, Mr. Devereux, Mr. Paget, Mr. Hughes, Colonel Webb, Dr. Devenant, Mr. Gwyn, Mr. Hamond, Sir Theophilus Oglethorpe: And they are to meet at Five a Clock this Afternoon in the Speaker's Chamber.

Wrayford's Estate.

Sir Robert Nappier reported from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable William Wrayford Gentleman, and Dame Anne Rich Widow, to make Leases of Houses and Ground, in Covent-Garden, late the Estate of John Athey, Citizen and Haberdasher of London, was committed, That they had examined the same, and found the Allegations therein contained to be true; and that all the Parties concerned therein had given their Consents thereunto; and that the Committee had made an Amendment to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was twice read; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and is as followeth; viz.

And the same was thrice read; and agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Bernardeau's, &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to naturalize Samuel Bernardeau, Peter Chantreau des Gaudree, and others, private Gentlemen belonging to his Majesty's Three Troops of Guards, and Grenadiers, was read the Third time.

And an ingrossed Clause was offered, as a Rider, touching Trumpeters:

And the same was thrice read; and amended; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Resolved, That the Bill, with the Amendments, do pass.

Ordered, That Mr. Lowther do carry the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the Bill, with some Amendments: To which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for naturalizing Augustine Cloribus, and others, was, according to Order, read a Second time.

Fletcher, Mr. Cotton, Mr. Cooke, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Sergison, Lord Hartington, Mr. Crockar, Sir Richard Farrington, Mr. Thornhaugh, Mr. Hoar, Mr. Brewer, Mr. Hughs, Lord Hyde, Sir Robert Nappier, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Hancock, Colonel Kirkby, Sir Tho. Half-Pay.

Resolved, That the Half-Pay, to be allowed to the disbanded Officers, be paid to such Officers, only, who served in English Regiments at the time of their Disbanding.

Needwood Forest Rights.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Petition of Gentlemen, Freeholders, and other Inhabitants, who have a Right of Estovers and Common in the Forest, or Chace, of Needwood, in the County of Stafford, Parcel of the Duchy of Lancaster, was referred, be made upon Tuesday Morning next.

Supply Bill; Duties on Sweets.

Ordered, That it be an Instruction to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for laying further Duties upon Sweets; and for lessening and settling the Duties, as well upon Vinegar, as upon low Wines drawn from certain Materials, and the Duties upon Brandy imported; and for the more easy raising the Duties upon Leather; and for Charging of Cinders; is committed; That they be impowered to consider of increasing the Interest upon Malt Lottery-Tickets.

Ordered, That it be an Instruction also to the said Committee, That they have Power to receive a Clause for the better collecting the Duties on Wines, Vinegar, and Tobacco.

A Motion being made, and the Question being put, That it be an Instruction also to the said Committee, That they have Power to receive a Clause to enforce the selling Liquor by full Measure, in Pewter;

It passed in the Negative.

Conference with Lords.

Mr. Lowther acquainted the House, That he having, according to Order, been at the Lords, to desire a Conference upon the Subject matter of the Amendments, made by the Lords, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to naturalize Richard Legg, and others, the Lords do agree to a Conference, and appoint the same presently, in the Painted Chamber.

Ordered, That the Committee who drew up the Reasons to be offered at the said Conference, do manage the Conference.

And they went to the Conference.

And, being returned;

Mr. Lowther reported, That they had been at the Conference, and given the Lords the Reasons for disagreeing to the said Amendments; and left the Bill, and Amendments, with the Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Robert Legard and Sir Richard Holford:

Mr. Speaker,

Ship Hope.

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable the Ship Hope, of great Length, and very serviceable for bringing Masts into this Kingdom, to trade as an English-built Ship, without any Amendment: Also,

Officers and Soldiers to exercise Trades.

They have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable such Officers and Soldiers as have been in his Majesty's Service during the late War, to exercise Trades; and for Officers to account with their Soldiers; without any Amendment. Also,

Wrayford's Estate.

The Lords have agreed to the Amendments, made by this House, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable William Wrayford Gentleman, and Dame Anne Rich Widow, to make Leases of Houses and Grounds, in CoventGarden, late the Estate of John Athy, Citizen and Haberdasher, of London.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Supply Bill; Duty on Paper, &c.

An ingrossed Bill for laying a Duty upon Paper, Parchment, Vellom, and Pasteboard, was read the Third time.

And several Amendments were made by the House to the Bill.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for laying a Duty upon Paper, Parchment, Vellom, and Pasteboard, for the Purposes therein mentioned.

Ordered, That Mr. Cowper do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Supply Bill; Salt Duties.

Mr. Cowper reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill for the full and effectual Charging the Duties upon Rock-Salt was committed, the Amendments, which the Committee had made to the same; and which they had directed him to report to the House; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

A Clause was offered to the House, to be added to the Bill, That * * * *

And the same was twice read; and amended.

And then the same was agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Another Clause was offered to the House, with Blanks, to be added to the Bill, That no Salt made in Norfolk, or elsewhere, within this Kingdom, from White Salt, which had paid the Duty before the Refining thereof, shall be chargeable by this Act:

And the same was twice read; and amended:

And the Question being put, That the Clause be made Part of the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.
