Persons to attend.
THAT Mr. Palmer shall have Power to issue out his
Warrants, for Parties, and Witnesses, and others,
concerning the Cause of * *, to attend the Committee
for the Queen's Jointure, on Wednesday come Fortnight.
Leave of Absence.
Mr. Charles Baldwin has Leave to go into the Country.
Restoring Laiton, &c.
Ordered, That the Bonds given by Doctor Laiton, and
other his Sureties, for his true Imprisonment, shall be delivered up unto him: And he to be restored to the Practice of Physick, as formerly. And further
Ordered, That Dr. Bastwicke shall be restored to the
College of Physicians, and to his Practice, as formerly.
Controverted Elections.
Ordered, That Mr. Maynard make Report of such
Elections, as are voted and determined by the Committee
for Privileges, on Monday come Sevennight.
Lessening Committees, &c.
That the Committee for lessening Committees shall sit
To-morrow post meridiem at Two of Clock: And that
the several Chairmen bring in to that Committee such
Reports as are ready in their Hands; that the Committee
may consider of them, and present to the House such as
they think fit to be made.
Newport Parish.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Bill for Dividing
the Parish Church of Newport, in the Isle of Wight, do
meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the Inner Court
of Wards.
Col. Goring, &c.
Ordered, That it be signified unto Colonel Goringe,
that it is the Pleasure of the House, that he forthwith
attend the House.
And it is likewise Ordered, That Colonel Goringe shall
neither confer with, nor send to, Commissary Wilmott,
Captain Ashburnham, and Captain Pollard; nor they with
him; till they have further Order from this House.
And they are likewise required to make a Protestation,
that they will, in all Points, conform themselves to this
Order.

Abolishing Episcopacy.
Ordered, That the House be resolved into a Committee,
to consider of the Bill concerning Episcopacy.

Mr. Hide called to the Chair.
Mr. Hide reports from the Grand Committee, to which
the Bill concerning Episcopacy was referred, the Preamble to that Bill: The which Preamble was, in the
House, put to the Question: And, by the House, it was
Resolved, upon the Question, That this Preamble, viz.
" Whereas the Government of the Church of England,
by Archbishops, Bishops, their Chancellors and Commissaries, Deans, Archdeacons, and other Ecclesiastical
Officers, hath been found, by long Experience, to be a
great Impediment to the perfect Reformation and Growth
of Religion, and very prejudicial to the Civil State and
Government of this Kingdom" ....
Resolved, upon the Question, That the House shall
be resolved into a Committee To-morrow Morning at
Nine of Clock, to consider and proceed with the Bill
concerning Episcopacy.
