34. Lord Deputy to Hatton and Burghley. Forbears to make any further question of the inclosed accusation till he shall hear how the Privy Council shall determine to account of it or reject it. [Autog.] p. ¾. Incloses,

44. Mr. Edmund Yorke to Burghley. The mayor of Waterford thanked for his forwardness in assisting the fortifications. Desires the keeping of Duncannon. He has the commandment of the garrison at Waterford. Wishes to spend a short time in England in consequence of his wife's death. [Holog.] pp. 2.

45. Lord Deputy to Burghley. Has received plots of the fortifications at and about Waterford. The surveyor and Arthur Robins have taken the survey of the Knight of the Valley's country, and brought me the plot thereof. The examinations touching Sir Dennis Rowghane's accusation are proceeding. 53. Lord Deputy to Burghley. His dislike that William Warren should have Capt. Carlile's government of Carrickfergus and Claneboy, as he is too much devoted to the Earl of Tirone's party. Sir Edward Moore by his increase of children and alliance has grown to be a man of party in his quarters. He will do all he can for the Earl. And Warren is half brother to Moore's children. Moreover Warren is needy and poor, and where he may spareth not to make his own commodity. Autog. p. 1.

54. Lord Deputy to Burghley. Sends Sir Dennis's book which he desires to have back. The search of Harding's house for the letter found in Sir Thadie Halen's chest. The Bishop of Leighlin and Sir Nicholas White who charged Burghley and Deputy with suborning the priest. Sir N. White's son not to be suffered to approach the Queen. James Meagher, a most shameless and desperate fellow, hath tendered a discovery to the Bishop of Leighlin. Sir Dennis Rowghane's wife examined, pp. 6. Incloses,
