parcel of the manor of Wynandremer, in which are 11 tenants at will,

In the said hamlet there is one tenement which ought to render 13s.
4d. but now renders nothing because it is in the lord's hands for
default of tenant. He also held the hamlet of Troutbek, parcel of the
said manor of Wynandremer, in which there are 11 tenants at will,
who render £11 8s. 2½d. yearly, six tenements there were in the lord's
hands and ought to render £5 11s. 2½d. yearly and now nothing.

Inquest taken on Monday after the feast of SS. Simon and Jude,
16 Henry VI (4 November, 1437) the jurors say that John, duke of
Bedford, held at his death inter alia the forest of Troutbecke with a
parcel of land called Amylsed and three parks in the same forest,
called Trowtbecke parke, Le Cole parke, and Calfgarth. The duke
died on 14 September in the 14th year of the present king, 1435.

Makereth, reeves, of two parts of the lordship of Amelsett was £16 5s.

parts of £6 of the gressum of the tenants there £4.
The issues of Hugh Byrkeheved, reeve, of two parts of the lordship
of Troutebek was £21 16s. 9½d. For the following year the sum was

The tenants of 30 "cattall" of "nether end of the town" use in
like manner the indirect way to the said mill, against pain 6d.; also
Roger Birkhead and Roger Aray for the same, 6d.; the tenants of 20
"cattall" at Le Fold for the same, 6d.; Anthony Henrison for using
an indirect way at Lynfit, called "a peit way," against pain 6d.
Will. Ellerowe for cutting "Le Ellers" against pain 3s. 4d.; also
John Byrkhead, son of Gawin, for the same, 3s. 4d.
Henry Birkhead keeps 2 unringed pigs within the lordship, against
pain 2s.
Thomas Brown and Anthony Birkhead between them cut down
"pullid don" (written over) the gate (post) of Peter Watter's wife,
against pain 6s. 8d.
The same Anthony fished in the lord's several water within the
lordship, against pain 3s. 4d. also Stephen Birkhead for the like,

The tenants of Appultwhait who ought to make Bregzeat (fn. 2) (or
Bregyeat) have two gaps (8d.) and 2 defects (4d.) in their fences there,
12d.; Christ. Broun has 2 defects in his fence 4d.; Robert Byrkhead
and his fellows have one defect in their fence, 2d.; Thomas Coikeson
will not hang his gate at his field against pain 4d.; the wife of John
Barwick and Robert Barwick for the like, 4d.; Roger Aray for one
defect in Ynggarth, 2d.; Thomas Atkynson for the like, 2d.; the
tenants of Dromylhead for a gap, 4d.; Thomas Atkynson and Math.
Dikeson for one defect between them in their fence at Headdike, 2d.;
