1625 March 30. Grant to Charles Maynard of the office of one of the two Auditors of the Court of Wards and Liveries. [See p. 4; Sign Man., Vol. i., No. 16.]
April 2. Warrant to pay to the King's Almoner 133l. 6s. 8d., to be expended in alms this Easter.
April 2. Warrant to Lord Treasurer Ley, to give order for continuing to collect all customs on merchandises, imported and exported, as the same were collected in the time of the late King, until his Majesty should give further order; and that the Farmers of the Great Customs should continue their farm according to their lease till the 25th December next.
April 2. Commission to the Duke of Buckingham, as Lord Admiral, to grant commissions of marque or reprisal against the subjects of the King of Spain, or of the States General, in the Low Countries.
April 25. Warrant to the Exchequer, to pursue the course intended by the late King for draining King's Sedgmoor, co. Somerset.
April 25. The like, for estalling debts due to the Crown, with power to accept lands in satisfaction thereof, at sixteen years' purchase.

Warrant to Lord Treasurer Ley and Sir Richard Weston, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to give order to Philip Burlamachi to pay 4,000l. to the Earls of Carlisle and Holland, his Majesty's Ambassadors in France, out of a sum of 120,000l. to be received from the French King in part of a greater sum.
April 27. Licence to Lionel Earl of Middlesex, to repair to London and Westminster for eight days, for despatch of his occasions.
April 29. Letter to the Lord Treasurer to give order to Philip Burlamachi to pay, out of the 120,000l. which he is to receive from the French King, the 4,000l. mentioned above, under the date of April 27.
April 30. Warrant dormant to the Receiver General of the Duchy of Lancaster, to pay yearly 1,500l. to the Treasurer of the Chamber towards the payments of that office.
April 30. Like warrant to the Receiver of the Court of Wards and Liveries, to pay yearly 1,000l. to the Treasurer of the Chamber.
April 30. Warrant to pay to Sir Walter Aston, late Ambassador in Spain, as well 6l. per diem for his diet, as also other allowances for transportation, intelligence, and private service, and also 150l. for blacks for the funeral of the late King.

May 7. Warrant for payment of 150l., to be employed towards expediting Corporations for the New Draperies in certain counties.

May 7. The like to Giles Rawlins, appointed Agent with the Duke of Savoy, 40s. per diem for his entertainment from the 1st Feb. last, with further usual allowances, and 100l. for blacks.
May 7. Warrant to Lord Treasurer Ley and Sir Richard Weston, Chancellor of the Exchequer, for continuing an imposition of 20s. on every ton of wine imported into London, and 13s. 4d. on that imported into the outports.
May 7. Warrant to pay to William Turner and others 1,511l., in part payment of the sum due to them for relinquishing the alum works.
May 7. Grant of a pension of 3s. per diem to Elizabeth Man, widow of John Man, who lost his life in the King's ship the Speedwell, for life.
May 10. Warrant to pay 150l. to Sir William St. Leger, appointed to repair into the Low Countries on special service.
May 10. Warrant to the Master of the Great Wardrobe, to deliver to the Officers-at-Arms, as well such Coats of his Majesty's Arms as have been accustomed, as also stuff for their liveries, being to attend his Majesty to Dover.
May 10. Warrant to the Exchequer, to pay to the Officers-at-Arms their diet and conduct money to Dover and back again.
May 10. The like to James Heriot, his Majesty's Jeweller, 570l. for jewels delivered to the King.

May 10. Grant to George Duke of Buckingham, for 21 years, of the Mines Royal in Muggleswick, co. Durham, reserving a tenth part of the silver to the Crown. [A similar grant passed the Signet and Privy Seal during the life of his late Majesty.]
May 10. Warrant to the Exchequer, to cancel bonds for payment of first fruits of spiritual livings which the incumbent may be put from or cannot enjoy.
May 10. The like, for repayment from time to time of all money borrowed by the late King, or his present Majesty, with such allowance for interest and charges as may be thought fit.
May 11. Release to Edward Yelverton, son and heir of Edward Yelverton, deceased, of a rent of 13l. 6s. 8d. reserved on a lease of two thirds of the lands of his late father, seized into the hands of Queen Elizabeth for his recusancy, in lieu whereof the said Edward Yelverton, the father, granted to the late King an annuity of 13l. 6s. 8d. out of certain lands in Norfolk.
May 18. Grant to Edward Lord Conway, of the office of one of his Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, during pleasure, with the fee of 100l. per annum, during life.
May 18. Protection to Sir Nicholas Salter and his sureties for six months.
May 18. Declaration of the King's pleasure to grant to Edward Ramsey and Robert Ramsey, and their heirs, in fee farm, at the nomination of the Earl of Holderness, lands of the yearly value of 326l. 2s. 3¾d. and 1/8, notwithstanding they are contained in the indenture of annexation made by the late King.
May 18. Grant to Richard Kynnesman, of the office of one of the Auditors of the Exchequer, for life, in reversion after Francis Neale, Wm. Hill, Thomas Hutton, Richd. Budd, Francis Phelips, Justinian Povey, and Sir Edmund Sawyer, Auditors in possession, and Wm. Gwyn, Thos. Brinley, and Thos. Wynn, in reversion.
May 19. Letter to Sir Edward Littleton, Sir William Bowyer, Sir Thomas Scrimpshere, and Ralph Sneyd to join with Sir Simon Weston, for the levy of 100 men in co. Stafford.
May 19. Letter to Robert Lord Cary and other Commissioners, to give security to William Paske for 10,000l., as the Lord Treasurer and Chancellor of the Exchequer shall direct.
May 20. Grant to Edwd. Lord Conway, of a pension of 2,000l. per ann., for 21 years, payable out of the Court of Wards, and in default thereof out of the Exchequer.

Suffolk, as parcel of the Earl of Anglesea's, 400l. per annum, intended to be granted by the late King, the said lands being contained in the indenture of annexation of the 7th James.
May 27. His Majesty's allowance of the payment of 1,200l., in the late King's time, by Wm. Viscount Mansfield, for lands, part of the Earl of Anglesea's 400l. per annum, and which sum was afterwards paid out of the Exchequer to the said Earl; with warrant for similar payments to be made to the Earl of 960l. to be paid in by Paul Peart, and 2,800l. by Henry Knollys.
May 27. Warrant for preparing a grant to Christopher Earl of Anglesea, of fines of 2,000l. imposed on Sir Henry Fiennes and 200l. [see p. 163] on Nicholas Roper, in the Star Chamber.
May 28. Warrant to the Wardrobe, for supply of liveries yearly to the Sergeant Trumpeter, and sixteen other trumpeters.
May 28. Warrant to William Rawson and John Hake, to take up horses, "harnesses," and other necessaries for drawing the waggon with his Majesty's hounds.

June 22. Grant to Sir Edward Powell, of the office of one of the Masters of Requests, with an annuity of 100l., for life.

June 24. Renewed grant to Emanuel Lord Scrope, of the offices of Bailiff and Steward of the liberty of Richmond fee, in co. York, and of Master Forester within that liberty, and of Constable of the castles of Richmond and Middleham, with the fee of 50l. 6s. 4d. per annum, during pleasure.
June 24. Warrant to the Exchequer, for Sir Thomas Dishington to have the levying of 440l., owing on accompt of the late Bishop of Exeter and his sub-collector for the subsidy of the clergy in that diocese in 18 James I., with allowance of a third part thereof for his travel and charges.
June 24. Warrant for transferring to the Court of Wards the payment of a pension of 1,000l. per annum, granted by the late King, in the 11th year of his reign, to the Earl of Salisbury, for 21 years, together with the arrears thereof.
June 24. Warrant to pay to Robert Hay 500l., to be employed according to his Majesty's directions.
