May 1632

Volume containing a Report, not quite complete, of the proceedings in the Court of Chivalry on an appeal of high treason by Donald Lord Reay against David Ramsey. It is in the handwriting of William Ryley, the herald, at that time Rouge Rose. The first sheet contains his draft account of the opening of the Court; the remainder was probably copied by him from the register of the Court. It contains the pleadings and evidence, and relates the proceedings of the Court day by day. See State Trials, III., 483; Rushworth, II., 112.
