1. Toby Wolrich, D.C.L. To recommend him to the Dean and Chapter of York, as Vicar General of the Diocese during the vacancy. Has lost both preferment and practice by resisting to take the covenants and engagements tendered to him by the late usurpers. Annexing,

2. Edw. Rainbow, D.D., His Majesty's chaplain. For the Deanery of Peterborough. Was ejected from Magdalen College, Cambridge, for his loyalty, and much impoverished. [Installed, Jan. 5. 1661.]
3. Byrom Eaton, D.D. For the Deanery of Lichfield. Lost a valuable living given him at Oxford by the late King, for his loyalty, &c. Annexing,

4. Dr. David Lloyd, of Ruthen, North Wales. For the Deanery of St. Asaph, with the Rectory of Henllan, co. Denbigh. Did all in his power for the interest of King and Church, often entertained Princes Rupert and Maurice, and once the late King himself, and has been sequestered, imprisoned, and often plundered. With note in his favour by Drs. John Earles and Geo. Morley. [Admitted, Oct. 17, 1660.]
5. George Benson. For the Archdeaconry of Hereford, void by death of John Hughes. With certificate by Dr. Sheldon and three others on his behalf, and order for granting the petition. [Installed, Sept. 24, 1660.]
6. Francis Davis, B.D. For the Archdeaconry of Llandaff. Was ejected from his living and plundered, for trying to maintain His Majesty's cause and the rights of the Church. [Appointed, Oct. 16.] With note by Dr. Gilbert Sheldon in favour of the petitioner. July 24, 1660.
7. John Carter, B.D., Rector of Settrington, Yorkshire. For the Archdeaconry of Chester. Was deprived of his living and plundered, for his constancy in maintaining the doctrine and discipline of the Church. [Presented, Oct. 19, 1660.]
8. John Sherman, D.D. For the Archdeaconry of Norwich, in His Majesty's gift by the vacancy of the See. Noted "Recommended by Dr. Sheldon."
9. Lawrence Womock. For the Archdeaconry of Suffolk, in the King's gift by vacancy of the see of Norwich. Noted "Recommended by Dr. Sheldon." Annexing,

13. William Owen, M.A. For the Treasurership of St. David's Cathedral. Was ejected from his Fellowship at Oxford, and sequestered from spiritual and temporal livings, for his loyalty and conformity. Annexing,

14. Justinian Lewyn, D.C.L. For the Chancellorship of the Diocese of Norwich. Was master of Chancery and commissary and official of Norfolk in the late King's time, but quitted or lost his employments during the troubles; has promoted His Majesty's interest in the county, especially in the business of Lynne, which might have been of eminent use, but for the treachery of Hynderson, then Governor of Newark. Annexing,
14. i. Certificate by Thos. Richardson, and five others, in favour of the petitioner, and testifying to his ability for discharge of the said office.
15. John Cruso, D.C.L., one of the Society of Doctors Commons. For the Chancellorship of the see of Worcester, during the vacancy, and a recommendation to the future bishop for his continuance. Lost his Fellowship in Gonville and Caius College for his loyalty; served Dr. Westfield, Bishop of Bristol, and then Lord Capel, as secretary, but was taken prisoner, in going from Truro to Exeter, to provide clothes for the King's guard, and his property, which was in Bristol, was burnt during the siege.
16. The Same. For the Chancellorship of the see of St. Davids or Llandaff. Annexing,
16. i. Certificate by Dr. Robt. Wiseman, and six others, in favour of the petitioner.
17. George Wake, D.C.L. To recommend him to the Chancellorship of the Diocese of Peterborough, when His Majesty shall appoint a bishop. Was ejected from his Fellowship in Magdalen College, Oxford, his estate sequestered, and that portion for which he compounded given away, by a pretended patent from the late usurper.
18. John Pulleyn, B.D. For the Chancellorship of Lincoln Cathedral. Was ejected from his Fellowship in Magdalen College, Cambridge, for loyalty, spoiled of books, goods, and all he had; obliged to seek subsistence abroad, and persecuted there by Sec. Thurloe, for corresponding with His Majesty's Court. Annexing,
18. i. Certificate by Drs. Gilbert Sheldon and Jo. Earles, in favour of the petitioner.
19. Dr. Thomas Byrd, Master in Chancery. For recommendation to the future Bishop of Worcester, as Chancellor of the Diocese; lost his stall by trying to have Coventry delivered to the late King; served as Governor of Eccleshall Castle, and was several times imprisoned; is one of the few surviving lawyers who served his late Majesty. 19. i., ii. Two certificates by the Earls of Derby and Berkshire, and 9 others, and by Dr. John Cosin and 12 others, in favour of the petitioner.
20. Edw. Dawtry, M.D. For recommendation to the future Bishop of Exeter, for the office of Registrar to the Bishop and Dean and Chapter, which office was promised him by his uncle, Dr. Ralph Brownrigg, late bishop, but the performance disabled by the troubles; printed and published the King's Worcester declarations, by order from the Earl of Cleveland.

22. Capt. William Jones. For appointment as Registrar of the Diocese of Gloucester during the vacancy, and recommendation to the next bishop; his father and grandfather served in the place under nine bishops; was ever among the first in the late wars, raised troops for his late Majesty, and was in every attempt for the Restoration.
23. Robt. Shirburne. For the office of Chief Registrar in the Diocese of Lincoln. Served the late King in the Earl of Carnarvon's regiment, of which he was at last Major, and was wounded and imprisoned. Marked "To be done by patent."
24. Michael, son of Michael Hudson, servant to the late King. For the Registrarship of the Diocese of Winchester, during the vacancy of the See. Annexing,
24. i. Certificate by Sir W. Bodenham, and four others, in favour of the petitioner, as well learned in Latin and Greek, writing several good hands, and capable of a Registrar's place. July 30, 1660.
25. Henry Foyle, of Winchester. For a grant to himself and son, during the vacancy of the Bishopric of Winchester, of the Stewardship of the lands, void by death of Mr. Carter, and of the Registrarship, void by death of Mr. Cole. Annexing,
25. i. Certificate by the Marquis of Winchester and Sir Hum. Bennet, of the losses and sufferings of the petitioner, who had one son slain, another sent to the Barbadoes Islands, and lost most of his estate in service of the late King.
26. Richard Towgood, B.D. For one of the vacant Prebends in Bristol Cathedral. With note in his favour by Drs. Sheldon and Morley. [Instituted, Sept. 14, 1660.]

29. Henry Dutton, M.A. For the Prebend in Bristol Church, void by death of [Thos.] Tucker. Lost his Fellowship at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, by his loyalty.
30. Joseph Barker, M.A. For a Prebend in Bristol, void by death of Mr. Cuthbert. Was thrown out of his Fellowship in Corpus Christi College, Oxford, for his loyalty.
31. John Dashfield, B.D. For a Prebend of Bristol, formerly Dr. [Rob.] Markes', with the house and profits. Was chaplain to the late King, and a great sufferer. [Appointed, Sept. 14, 1660.]
32. Edw. Wilsford, D.D. For the next vacant Prebend in Canterbury. After 20 weeks' imprisonment, escaped with hazard of his life to Oxford, raised a troop of horse at his own charge for the late King, and has suffered much in estate and by imprisonments.
33. Charles Gibbes, M.A., sometime Fellow of Merton College, Oxford. For a Prebend at Canterbury, in room of Dr. Kingsley, deceased. Was sequestered from his preferment for his loyalty and conformity, and obliged for 18 years to undergo the toil of a private school for maintenance. Annexing,

34. John Gough. For the next vacant Prebend in Canterbury, those for which he before obtained His Majesty's assent, on reference to the Dean of the Chapel, to know whether any were vacant, being already disposed of. Prefixing,

Certificates upon his former petition, by the Earl of St. Albans, that the King referred the petitioner to the Dean of the Chapel to inquire whether any of the Prebends of Canterbury which he solicited were vacant; and by Dr. Gilb. Sheldon, stating that as they are already disposed of, it would be best for the petitioner to be taken into His Majesty's thoughts, for the next that should be void.
35. Elias Smith. For presentation to the fifth Prebend in Durham Church, void by death of Dr. Eleazar Duncan. Has discharged the office of Precentor several years. Annexing,

36. James Harwood, B.D. For the Prebend in Durham Cathedral, void by death of George Morecroft. Attended the late King in the North, from 1642 to 1646, when, on surrender of Wallingford Castle, Sir John Hotham bereaved him both of temporal and spiritual estate.
37. Samuel Cotton, B.D. For the Prebend of Stow-Longa, Lincoln Cathedral. Lost preferment, value 200l. a year, at Oxford, in 1645, for his loyalty. [Installed, October 4, 1660.]
38. John Allington. For the Prebend of Ketton, void by death of Dr. Bayly, late prebendary of Lincoln. [Installed, October 18, 1660.] Annexing,

53. Everill, widow of Andrew Clare, D.D. For a grant to Hen. Bridgeman, on whom she can rely for maintenance, of the Prebend of Stillington, York Cathedral, void by death of Phil. Ford. Her husband, whowas His Majesty's first chaplain and last martyr, lost a plentiful estate by his loyalty.
54. Marmaduke Cooke. For a grant of the Prebend of Riccall, diocese of York. [Admitted, March 2, 1661.] Annexing,

55. Mountjoy Cradock, Rector of Maxton, co. Leicester. For the Prebend of Driffield, belonging to York Cathedral. Served the late King as army chaplain, and was admitted to his special favour, as appears by his sign manual, dated June 3, 1645, at Leicester. Annexing,

56. Samuel Cryer. For the Prebend of Fenton, co. York; a former donative granted him proved fruitless, as the Rector was living. Annexing,

62. Edw. Hudson. For a grant of the Rectory of Barwick-inElmett, co. York, and an order for it to pass immediately, and without fees, on account of his poverty and blindness, which make it troublesome to solicit the Signet and Privy Seal.
63. John Fairclough, vulgo Featley, Chaplain Extraordinary. For presentation to the Rectory of Beckingham, co. Lincoln. Was made chaplain to the late King at Hurtly Fields, in the first Scottish expedition, 1639.
64. Henry Wilson. For presentation to the Rectory of Benninworth, co. Lincoln, in His Majesty's gift by lapse, to which he is presented by the undoubted patrons. Annexing,
64. i. Certificate by Dr. Robt. Sanderson, and three others, in favour of the petitioner, a prebendary of Lincoln Cathedral.
65. Moses Lee. To confer on him the rectory of Biddenden, Kent, void by resignation of Dr. George Wilde, and in His Majesty's gift by the vacancy of the see of Canterbury.
66. John Monck. For confirmation of his title to present a parson to the parish of Blaby and Countesthorp, co. Lincoln, granted by John Hunt, of Coldnewton, to his father, Thos. Monck. Dr. Hinton, the former incumbent, surrendered to — Rogers, who died in 1654, and Bosse, presented by Cromwell, now holds it.
67. The Same. To refer to the Lord Chancellor his right to the Advowson of Blaby Rectory, co. Leicester, although on a vacancy by lapse, in the late King's time, the then Lord Keeper presented, pleno jure, on a false suggestion, and the clerk was inducted six months before it came to his knowledge.
68. Giles Collier, M.A. For the vicarage of Blockley, co. Worcester, void by death of George Durant.
69. Edm. Tracy. For an order for his restoration to the parish of Bradford, co. Wilts, where he served six years, but was ejected by the Parliamentary Comrs. for loyalty. Annexing,

71. Richard Brathwaite, Lord of the Manor of Catterick, co. York. That Chas. Anthony, M.A., may be presented to the vicarage of Catterick, the advowson of which, during the late troubles, has lapsed to the Crown, though ever before esteemed to belong to the manor. Annexing,
71. i. Certificate by numerous inhabitants of Catterick, that in 1658, on the death of Mich. Syddall, vicar, presented by Rich. Brathwaite, Chris. Parkes, by a grant from Rich. Cromwell, intruded by force into the said church, but would neither administer the sacrament nor read Divine Service; also that holding before the chapel of Bolton, of which Catterick is mother church, he retained both, though he had previously tried to divide the two.

79. George Buchanan. For presentation to the Rectory of Croft, near Northallerton, void by death of Dr. Stevenson. Lost the parsonage of Moffat, in Scotland, worth 200l. a year, for refusing the first covenant, and since, that of Kirkby Lonsdale, and was chaplain in the late King's garrisons, &c. Recommended by the Bishop of Salisbury.
80. John Studdert, M.A. For a new presentation to the Vicarage of Crosthwaite, Cumberland, under the title of John Studdert, sen., there being another person of the name in the county.
81. Patrick Forbes. For confirmation of His Majesty's own former appointment of him to the place of Minister of the English Garrison, and Dutch Inhabitants of Dunkirk, with the allowance of 300l. a year. The governor is sending over another minister for the garrison, employing him for the Dutch, and also as chaplain to his own regiment, which latter will tie him to the motions of the regiment, whereas his charge of the Dutch requires his constant abode in the garrison.
82. Rich. Pearson, late chaplain to the late Lord Colepeper, Master of the Rolls. For confirmation in the Rectory of Epworth, diocese of Lincoln, which being lapsed to the Queen [Mother], belongs to His Majesty. Annexing,
82. i. Certificate by Dr. George Hall, and two others, to the petitioner's loyalty and orthodoxy; with note in his favour by Dr. Gilbert Sheldon. August 17 and 22, 1660.
83. Paul Gosnold. For presentation to the Rectory of Fobbing, co. Essex, void by death of Dr. Samson Johnson. Was the last man that was fetched out of bed by troopers in Suffolk and Norfolk for loyalty, during the late troubles; constantly vindicated monarchy, episcopacy, and liturgy, and cried down rebellion and schism, in almost every sermon; was often forced to fly, often imprisoned, and reduced to such poverty, that having sacrificed liberty to duty, he must now forfeit it for debt, unless aided. Annexing,
83. i. Certificate by John Rous, and two others, that Paul Gosnold, of Suffolk, minister, has suffered much for his loyalty.
84. Robt. Taylor. For presentation to Gidney Vicarage, co. Lincoln, worth 90l. a year. Was M.A. of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, but could have no benefice on account of his loyalty, and was obliged to keep a school, till the parishioners of St. Bartholomew's invited him to assist in that ministry, being a living of 20l. a year. 97. Anthony Elcock. For confirmation in the Rectory of Methley, co. York. The Parliament presented a minister thereto in 1650, who had served against the late King in the war, but the parish consisting of loyal subjects, petitioned for leave to choose their own minister, and named the petitioner, who left his former living to accept this. 99. Sir Nicholas Cole, Bart., and six other loyal subjects of Newcastle. To grant the Vicarage of their town to Dr. George Wishart, for their encouragement in religion and loyalty; he was strangely delivered from his horrid imprisonment in 1644, when Newcastle was stormed, and the clergy were so abused by the Scots for their religion; in all these changes no preferment could prevail with him to change.

For gift of St. Magdalen's Hospital and St. Thomas's Chapel in that town, which have been usually bestowed on a freeman of the town and a Master of Arts. 112. Matthew Smythe, of Gravesend. For a mandamus to admit him into Sir Michael Livesey's living in Sheppy, called East-Church, lapsed into His Majesty's hands. Sir Michael turned him out and sequestered him, for exhorting the people to fear God and honour the King.
113. Nathaniel Hardy. For presentation to the Rectory of St. Dionis Back-church, London, void by death of George Hume, in which he has officiated many years, with consent of the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury, in whose gift it was, but it has now devolved by lapse on the King.
114. Inhabitants of St. Giles', Cripplegate, London. For confirmation of Dr. Brune Ryves, Dean of Chichester, as their minister, that they may no longer be left destitute of an orthodox and godly divine. He was appointed to them by the late King, when Dr. Wm. Fuller was made Dean of Durham, but could not enjoy the living, and at present Dr. Annesley, pretending a grant from the late usurper or his son, possesses it, contrary to the votes and desires of most of the parish. 120. William, son of the late Dr. Robt. Markes, Prebend of Bristol, Vicar of South Petherton and Merriott, co. Somerset. For presentation to the Vicarage of South Petherton. His father lost his whole temporal and spiritual estate, worth 3,000l., for loyalty, whereby the family would have been ruined, but for the Restoration.
121. Andrew Lamont, D.D. For presentation to the Rectory of Stanhope, co. Durham, void by death of Mr. Morecroft. Was expelled from his living of Markinch, in Fife, Scotland, for refusing to subscribe the Covenant; served as chaplain to the English garrison in the castle of Dumbarton, and was banished by Parliament.
122. Thos. King, M.A., Rector of Sudborne-cum-Oxford, co. Suffolk, M.A. For revocation of a grant made to Mr. Fossett of his Rectory. Was settled therein by the powers, in 1658, and Mr. Brook, then sequestered, has since died; has performed the duties ever since, taking hold of the proclamation for allowing ecclesiastical persons to remain in possession. That the presentation to the Rectory of Tylehurst, diocese of Salisbury, wrongfully obtained by Andrew Blackwell, a disaffected intruder therein, may not pass the Great Seal; he was appointed thereto on the supposed delinquency of Dr. John Littleton, after whose death the first petitioner was lawfully appointed by the others, as undoubted patrons, in 1658, though the bishop did not then think it safe to give him institution, which he has since obtained.
