Romney petitions Parliament that he was always well-affected, and at the coming down of Lord Chief Baron Wilde and Mr. Salway, to oppose the Commission of Array and settle the militia, being foreman of the jury, he gave in the verdict for the militia and against the commission, for which he was imprisoned, and so plundered by the late King's party that he is in debt 250l. 163 48
The constable Roger Palmer forced him to attend the King of Scots' rendezvous at Pitchcroft, near Worcester, but he went unarmed, and returned home that night. That being called on by the county commissioners to witness against the enemies of Parliament, they in revenge have charged him with being at the rendezvous, on which the county commissioners, who judge by law, not by equity, have ordered his estate to be sequestered, to the ruin of himself, wife, and 11 children. Begs relief.

The inhabitants have petitioned for his return, but he who holds the profits has accused petitioner of delinquency, out of mere malice; he has attended the county commissioners a year, and they see no cause why publication should not pass, which he therefore begs. 163 75
