Information that Zachariah Steward of Loftus owed him 100l., and Hester Newton 200l., which belongs to the State, his widow being a recusant, and that Wm. Salvin, the son, has received 200l. for wood and timber, for which he ought to account to the State. 23 88

John Newton petitions that on 10 Dec. 1650, he discovered to the county commissioners the 200l. due to Salvin by Hester, widow of Isaac Newton, and they have caused the bond, taken in the name of Wm. Collingwood of Durham, a delinquent, to be put in suit. He begs return of proceedings against Salvin and his wife, and leave to examine other witnesses. Granted. 163
