Order of the Committee for Compounding, that—whereas by Act of Parliament,
the rents of delinquents are to be detained in the tenants' hands till 1 July,
for the benefit of those that perfect their compositions by that time, which Act
has a clause that, out of the estates of other Papists or delinquents who do not
compound within that time, the public engagements made by the Committee of
co. Gloucester for raising and disbanding the forces in that county, shall be made
good—letters be written to the said committee that, from the said rents, they
make good the engagements to Capts. John Wells, Thos. Roberts, Rich. Castle,

that they think the time for persons to come in to compound should be enlarged,
and touching compositions with Papists,—that the time for compositions and

1 March 1648,—that 1,000l be paid to Col. Wm. Sydenham, in part of arrears,
from estates of delinquents concealed to be discovered by him to the Committee at Haberdashers' Hall, or from those undervalued in compositions, to be
discovered at Goldsmiths' Hall, both committees to receive and examine his
discoveries, determine according to justice, and take course to bring in the
moneys; also on a like order for Col. John Bingham—that the same be paid
from the fine of Sir Thos. Leigh, of Stoneleigh, co. Warwick, set on an undervaluation of his estate, of which they were joint discoverers. [Also G 1,

Order that the Bristol Committee return the charges of delinquency brought
by the solicitor for sequestrations, or any other, against [Alex.] James, late
alderman, — Hicks, [John] Creswick, and the rest of the citizens of Bristol
