L. 2a. An Act to make void a Decree in Chancery, in a Cause there lately depending, wherein Francis Verzelyne was Plaintiff, Pet. Maning, Eliz. his Wife, &c. Defendants. -

Sir J. Perrott: - That this Land conveyed to Purchasers for valuable Consideration.

Mr. Salter: - That 100 l. given by the now Petitioners, for a Bill of Review; yet afterwards that Bill rejected. -

Grievances.

Sir Edw. Coke; - To put, in the Petition for Grievances, that all others, of like Nature, as these damned, may be by the King recalled; and these to be put into a parliamentary Manner by the Committee.

Mr. Crew: - That the Grievances, in former Sessions, may be considered of.

This Committee, and the former, to be joined in One, to consider of all these, and former. Grievances, in former Sessions; and to prepare them for the King.

The Proclamation, for Gold Weights, to be debated at the Committee for Grievances, and then to be reported to the House.

Importing Corn.

Sir Geor. Manners reporteth the Bill against Importation of Corn, which was recommitted.

Mr. Snelling, - against this Bill, as most dangerous. -

Taketh away Trade, Shipping, Mariners. - That the Dutch will give 100.000 l. to have this Bill stand for 21 Years,

Mr. Solicitor: - The first Part, against Transportation dangerous; for the second, good ; viz. to have engrossing lawful, when cheap. - To retain this.

Mr. Bateman: - Corn (where none growing there) maketh the Low Countries the greatest in Shipping. -

To make England a Staple of Shipping, then keep out from hence.

Sir Tho. Ryddall; - this Hindrance of Importation most mischievous : - Will hinder all Trade into the Eastern Counties.

Sir D. Digges, as Mr. Solicitor supra. - To re-commit this Bill. - To strike out the first Part, and let the last stand)

Sir Edw. Coke: - Importation of Corn never attempted before to be hindered. This would bar Navigation. - To reject it.

Sir W. Heale: - To restrain Importation of Corn by Strangers, who carry away our Money for the Corn they import.

Sir Tho. Wentworth, as Mr. Solicitor.

Mr. Wentworth: - To reject this Bill, and put the other into the Bill of Continuance of Statutes.

Upon a Question of Re-commitment, the Voice doubtful. - Whether the Question to be put again, or not: - Yet that left, and the first Question put again.
