Bill for Salt-peter, - Thursday Afternoon. Power to the Committee, to send for Witnesses, &c. Sir Ro. Killigrew added to the Committee: And Power given this Committee, to examine the Petition, exhibited, and read in the House, against Stephens. He to be sent for, and the Witnesses; and to bring in their Commission, Instructions, and Deputation.

Bill of Alehouses, - Two Clock this Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Lownes' Case.

Power to hear Counsel, in Lownes' Case, and to consider of the Depositions in that Case, in Chancery.

Charge against Manwaringe.

The Committee, for drawing Mr. Manwaringe's Charge to retire into the Court of Wards, to agree upon the Draught of the Charge.

The Committee for the Bill of Arms, to consider of, and frame, a Bill, concerning the Motion made from the Lords, for Monies to be raised by Deputy Lieutenants, towards War Charges: - This Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

The Petition of Right ingrossed, and read. Upon Question, Ordered, To be sent up to the Lords, and presented to his Majesty.

Sir Edw. Coke, Mr. Littleton, Mr. Selden, Mr. Glanvyle, Mr. Noy, Sir Nath. Rich, Mr. Hackwyll, Sir Ro. Cotton, Mr. Ball, Mr. Alford, Sir D. Digges, Sir Ro. Phillippes, Mr. Spencer, Sir W. Earle, Mr. Pymme, to meet presently in Court of Wards, to consider of the Way for presenting this Petition.

Complaints against Ld. Mohun.

Sir Jo. Ellyott reporteth from the Committee, for Examination of the Complaints against the now Lord Mohun.

- Resolved, nothing therein reflecteth upon the Lord Warden [a]. -

Extension of his Power beyond the Limits, by granting Writs of Privilege to several Persons; Alehouse-keepers, &c. having no Relation to the Stannaries. - As extendeth his own, so retrencheth upon other. Jurisdiction : 1. The Common Law prohibiting Prosecution of an Indictment at the Assizes: - Harrys: - Court of Chancery: Ecclesiastical Court.

Serjeant Ashley and Serjeant Ayloffe bring from the Lords Two Bills : 1. An Act for the better Explanation, and Enlarging of a former Act, in the First Year of the Reign of King James, intituled, An Act for new Executions to be sued against any, which shall hereafter be delivered out of Execution by Privilege of Parliament, and for Discharge of them, out of whose Custody such Persons shall be delivered :

Rawleighe's Restitution.

2. An Act for the Restitution in Blood of Carew Rawleighe, Son of Sir W. Rawleighe, late attainted of High Treason; and for Confirmation of certain Letters Patents, made by our late Sovereign Lord King James, to John Earl of Bristoll, by the Name of John Digby, Knight.

Upon Question, this Petition of Right to be sent up to the Lords, and to be presented to his Majesty.

Upon Question, the Lords to be acquainted with the Desire of this House, that his Majesty would be pleased

to give his Answer to this Petition, in full Parliament; and that his Majesty be moved to that Purpose.

Sir Edw. Coke to deliver this Petition to the Lords; with Thanks for their Signification of their Purpose of joining in this Petition with us; and to desire, they will do it; and to acquaint the Lords with the said Desire of this House, for the King's answering the same in Parliament.

Levett's Patent.

A Petition, against Levett, read : And he to be sent for to attend this House, and bring his Patent with him; and this to be heard the Wednesday sevennight after Whitsontyde.

Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Lords, that the Lord Keeper said, they intended to join with us in Circumstance, as well as Substance; but, for that something in Agitation with them, would send Answer by Messengers of their own; and that, if we would sit a while, they thought, they should now send to us.

Charge against Manwaring.

Upon Question, this to be ingrossed, and presented to the Lords, as a Charge against Mr. Manwaring. Mr. Pymme to deliver the Charge, and to strengthen the same. Sir Nath. Rich, Mr. Ball, Mr. Rowse, and Mr. Hampden to assist him. They Power to send for any Records.

Petition of Right.

A Message from the Lords, by Justice Jones and Justice Whitlocke ; That the Lords, having received the Petition, have read it thrice, and, with one unanimous Consent, voted it, though they had voted it before. For moving the King, for the Manner of giving his Answer ; for that the same concerneth both Houses, the Lords desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House.
