Warrant to be brought.

MOTION for Wrenham's bringing the Warrant for Darbyshyre, till Monday next. He ordered to bring in that, and all other of the same Kind, upon Monday next.

River Medway.

Sir H. Fane, Mr. Finch, Sir Tho. Culpepper, Sir Francis Nethersall, Mr. Noy, Mr. Whitby, Mr. Mason, Mr. Tufton, and Mr. Bunch, added to the Committee for Medway River.

Turkey Merchants, &c.

Mr. Chancellor Duchy returneth Answer from his Majesty, that he is graciously pleased, that the Turkey Merchants shall have their Currants delivered to them, giving Bond, to pay what shall be found due: And the French Merchants, imprisoned, shall be also enlarged, putting in Bonds, to pay whatsoever shall be found due.

And Mr. Chancellor saith, if they will follow his Advice, they will take no Harm.

Member absent without Leave.

Sir Edmond Sawyer, when he cometh to the House, to give account, why he went out of Town, contrary to the Orders of the House, without Leave of the House.

Privilege.

Richard Dyer, Bailiff to Sir Jo. Ellyott, to have Privilege ; and Tho. Wyvell, * and Thomas Teale, to be sent for, to answer their Contempt to the House, in arresting Dyer.

Books of Rates.

The select Committee for Examination of the new Books of Rates, to meet this Afternoon, in the former Place.

Non-communicants, &c.

Sir Wm. Bulstrode maketh Report of those which have not received the Communion; viz......

And also of the Distribution of the Collection of this House, at the Fast and Communion.

Mr. Fleming, returned a Non-communicant, averreth, upon his Credit, he received the Communion the first Day, and delivered his Note to Sir Ro. Pye. The House satisfied with it.

Sir Christofer Yelverton in Fraunce.

Mr. Morgann hath received sithence. The House satisfied.

Motion for new Writ.

Motion, to have a new Writ, for Choice of another in Sir Chr. Yelverton's Room: But refused.

The Lord of Devonshyre's Bill re-committed: - To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Court of Wards.

Mr. Owen Jenninges no Communicant yet. He voucheth a Certificate from his Vicar; and, that sick at the Time. - Must go and receive, according to the Order; and, in the mean time, forbear the House.

Statutes.

A Petition, from Mr. Burgesse, read. Ordered, He shall be brought this Afternoon, to the Committee for Religion.

Message from the King.

Mr. Chancellor of the Duchy delivereth a Message from his Majesty: That he desireth not to interrupt our Business with Messages; but, that some pressing Occasions, which have lately happened, make him resolve to go to Portsmouth upon Wednesday next; and therefore wisheth a speedy Proceeding with the Business here.

Petition of Right.

The House entered into Consideration of the Lords Addition to our Petition.

Motion made, to send to the Lords, to know, whether they agree to the Petition in all the Parts of it; if not, that they would afford a free Conference, to accommodate that, before such time as this House enter into Consideration of the Addition.

This ordered: And to be done presently by Sir Ro. Phillippes. The Reason of this Haste, because of his Majesty's Message this Day.

Lowe's Estate.

Mr. Whitby reporteth Mr. Lowe's Bill, with Amendments; which twice read. - Engrossetur. The Words reported, " Clerk of the Parliaments," being, by Order of the House, made at the Table, without Re-commitment, " Clerk of the Lords House of Parliament."

Judges Declaration.

The Committee to take Consideration of the Judges Declaration of their Award in the King's Bench, to meet on Wednesday next. Three of the Clock, in the Inner Temple Hall.

Alehouses.

Bill against unlicensed Alehouses, - To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer.

Sir Ro. Phillippes reporteth from the Lords, that having delivered our Message, they will presently take it into their serious Consideration, and speedily send us Answer by Messengers of our [a] own.

The grand Committee appointed this Day, for Tonage and Poundage, &c. to sit To-morrow Morning.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Crue and Serjeant Davenport: - The Lords desire, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, a present and free Conference concerning the Alterations in the Petition propounded from the Lords.

Answer: This House will give their Lordships a Meeting presently, as is desired, by a Committee of their whole House.

Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Conference with the Lords : - And have gone through all the Points of the Alterations. - That the Lords desire to know whether we will sit this Afternoon, or not: If we will, then they will sit. - Resolved, Yea.

House to sit.

To acquaint the Lords, that we will sit this Afternoon; but leave their Sitting to their Lordships; because the House doubtful, we shall not be ready to send to them this Afternoon.

Ordered, The House to sit this Afternoon, at Four of the Clock.

1. " Pretext " yielded, for " Means."

2. " Upon pressing Occasions of State, then alleged." Upon Question, the Word, " Pretext," to be altered for the Word, " Means."

Upon Question, the House to be presently resolved into a grand Committee, and there to debate these Alterations.
