Wednesday, August 4. Present:—Earl of Halifax, Mr. Oswald, Mr. Stone.
Georgia.
Read a letter from Mr. Fox, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, to the Board, dated August 3rd, 1756, signifying his Majesty's approbation of Henry Ellis, Esquire, to be Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, and directing the Board to prepare a Commission for him, and to order Mr. Reynolds to return home.
The draught of a Commission appointing Henry Ellis, Esquire, to be Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, having been prepared in the usual form, a letter to Mr. Fox, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, inclosing the same was signed.
Ordered, that the draught of a letter to Mr. Reynolds, Governor of Georgia, signifying his Majesty's pleasure that he do return forthwith to England to give an account of the state and condition of that colony, and of his conduct in the administration of government, be prepared.

New York.
Read a letter from Sir Charles Hardy, Governor of New York, to the Board, dated the 19th of June, 1756, giving an account of the measures taken by that province and by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to prevent the French being supplied with provisions from thence, and of a trade carried on between Ireland and St. Eustatia.
Ordered, that an extract be made of so much of the said letter as relates to the Acts passed by the province of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, to prevent the exportation of provisions, to be laid before his Majesty, and a letter to Mr. Fox, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, inclosing the said extract, was signed.

The draught of a letter to Mr. Reynolds, Governor of Georgia, signifying his Majesty's pleasure that he do forthwith return to this kingdom, having been prepared pursuant to the preceding day's minutes, was agreed to, transcribed and signed.

Read a letter from Messrs. Thornton and Cornwall to the
Secretary, dated August the 23rd, 1756, inclosing:—
Memorial of the British merchants residing at Königsberg in
Prussia, setting forth the present state of the British
factory there, the priviledges they formerly enjoyed, and
their present grievances.
Ordered, that a copy of the said memorial be made to be transmitted to the Earl of Holdernesse, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, and a letter to his Lordship inclosing it was signed.
