Wednesday, May 1st. Present:—Lord Grantham, Mr. Stuart, Mr. Sloane, Mr. Gibbon, Sir A. Ferguson, Mr. Storer.
The minutes of the last Board were read, approved and signed.
West Florida.
The Secretary informed the Board, that he had wrote to Mr. Burke, agreeable to their Lordships' order of the last Board.

Read a letter to the Secretary, from Mr. Albany Wallis, solicitor on behalf of the complainants against Peter Chester, esquire, late Governor of West Florida, dated April 26th, 1782, informing him that neither the persons nor papers the complainants had expected in England were arrived, and therefore Mr. Wallis was directed not to proceed further in the prosecution of the said complaints.
The Secretary informed their Lordships, that this being the day fixed on by the respective parties to hear the complaints preferred against Governor Chester, as appears by the minutes of the 25th of January last, and the complaints having by the beforementioned letter from Mr. Wallis given up their intentions of prosecuting their said complaints,
Ordered, that the said complaints be, and hereby are, dismissed; and that information thereof be immediately given to the said Peter Chester, esquire, which was communicated accordingly.

Bermuda.
Read a report of Richard Jackson, esquire, dated on the 1st of May, 1782, upon an Act passed in the Island of Bermuda in September, 1780, intitled, an Act for the establishment of a proper school on the share of land situate in Warwick parish in the Island of Bermuda (No. 65).
Read a memorial of Mr. Tucker, agent for the Island of Bermuda, dated April 8th, 1782, praying the confirmation of the above Act passed in September, 1780.
Leeward Islands.
Virgin Islands.
Read an order of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, dated April 29th, 1782, directing the draught of an additional instruction to the Governor of the Leeward Islands to be prepared, authorizing him to give his assent to a bill, for quieting possessions, etc. etc.

Ordered, that the said draught of additional instruction be
immediately prepared, with a letter to Governor Shirley thereupon; which being done, a report to the Committee of Council for
Plantation Affairs accompanying the said instruction was
signed; as was also the letter to Governor Shirley, and transmitted accordingly.

Miscellanies.
On the second day of May, 1782, the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations severally received an official letter from the Earl of Shelburne, one of his Majesty's principal Secretaries of State, informing them, that his Majesty had no further occasion of their services as Lords of Trade. By this notification the business of the Board of Trade was discontinued, altho' it was not abolished 'till the Act of Parliament for that purpose passed on the 11th of July following.
