Conference.

The Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, having received a Message from your Lordships, for a free Conference, have returned this Answer; That, upon that Message, their Purpose was to have conferred, at what Time it should have seemed good unto your Lordships.

Against which Conference, they desire these Things of your Lordships : First, that you will be pleased to think of some other Heads of Retribution, to be added to those which have been proposed by your Lordships, and shall be propounded by ourselves : Secondly, that you will be pleased to inform us, what his Majesty will demand, as his lowest Price, for those Things for which we are to compound : And lastly, that you will communicute unto us, what Projects, other than upon Land, are, in your Wisdoms, fittest to be entertained, for the raising of that Sum which shall be agreed upon.
