the patent which constituted John Baber gent as Solicitor for the
prosecution of all causes before the Grand Commissioners of Excise

200l. per an.; and likewise to determine the instrument dated 1689
May 28 whereby the Treasury Lords constituted George Parry of
Lyons Inn, Co. Middlesex, Esq as Solicitor for the Revenues of Excise

to the Lords Justices, Ireland for a lease to be passed to Thomas
Cook merchant, of lands as follows forfeited by Dennis O'Bryon:
to be for 27 years from date hereof: at the quit and crown rents
payable thereout and a further 10l. per an. de incremento; the said
Cook having petitioned shewing that he is in possession (by custodiam)
as his inheritance (by purchase), of the towns and lands of Dungillane
Co. Cork containing 4½ plowlands mostly unprofitable and mountainous; that one Dennis (Donnogh) O'Bryon formerly gave him
great disturbances therein under a pretended lease from Dominick
late Visct. Sarsfield of Killmallock in 1636 for 89 years, but O'Bryon
was outlawed for high treason in the late rebellion (as is certified 1697
May 5 by James Tisdale, deputy clerk of the Crown for the King's
Bench, Ireland) whereby the said pretended right, if any, is forfeited
to the Crown; wherefore Cook prayed a grant thereof for 30 years
from May 1 last at 10l. per an. above the quit rent: on which petition
the Solicitor General, Ireland has reported confirming the facts and
setting out the arrears due to the Crown. |

a particular of a tenement within the manor of Shippon Co. Berks.,
parcel of the Duchy of Cornwall, in order to a lease thereof to George
Cuthbert for 99 years terminable on 3 lives at a fine of 20l. and the
ancient reserve rent of 1l. 2s. 11d. per an. |

Prefixing: said Surveyor's report on said Cuthbert's petition for
same. In 1662 John Thatcher and his brother Thomas had their
lives added in reversion of John Thatcher their grandfather in the
premises; the increase rent of 10l. per an. was bought off in 1676
by John Thatcher the grandson for his own life only: in 1693 he
surrendered his copyhold estate (for life with widowhood incident)
and obtained a lease for 99 years terminable on the lives of Ann his
wife and John their son. On 27 June 1695 he petitioned for a
change of lives but his wife died before the report thereon and he
himself died in November. Cuthbert is the mortgagee and paid his
solicitor Gilbert Earl 50l. on the 1st Oct. 1695 to procure a fresh lease
and to meet the arrears and a further 70l. was paid to said Earl by
Mr. Hart as solicitor for Thatcher. I think the fine may be reduced
