PRAYERS.

Proceedings concerning Macquire.

ORDERED, That the Committee of this House, appointed for the Trial of Macquire, or any Two or more of them, shall have Power to give Warrant to the King's Counsel, and Clerk of the Crown, to acknowledge the Plea of Macquire as to all Matters of Fact and Record; and to give Warrant to the King's Counsel, and Clerk of the Crown, to demur; and to join in Demurrer, if they see Cause.

Church Government.

According to an Order Yesterday made, the House took into Consideration the Advice of the Assembly of Divines concerning a Directory for Publick Worship.

The Consideration of the Preface was laid aside till the latter End. The particular Paragraphs or Chapters concerning the Assembling of the Congregation, and their Behaviour in the Publick Worship of God; concerning (fn. a) publick Reading of the Holy Scriptures; concerning publick Prayer before the Sermon; concerning the Preaching of the Word; concerning Prayer after the Sermon; concerning the Administration of the Sacraments, and first, of (fn. b) Baptism; were all particularly read, Clause by Clause; and each particular Title to each particular Paragraph; and all particularly voted; and, upon Question, passed.

The first Clause or Sentence of the Chapter or Paragraph concerning the Celebration of the Communion, or Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, was read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Ordered, That the humble Advice of the Assembly of Divines, concerning a Directory for Publick Worship, be resumed on Monday Morning next, at Eight of Clock, peremptorily: And Mr. Speaker to put the House in mind hereof.

Military Affairs.

Ordered, That the Members of this House that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, do To-morrow give an Account to this House of the whole Carriage and Motions of the Armies, both near Dennyngton Castle, Newbery, Basinghouse; and of the present Posture of them.

Payment to Frost.

Ordered, That the Committee at Goldsmiths Hall do forthwith pay the Thousand Pounds Residue of the Three thousand Pounds raised upon the King's Plate, unto Mr. Frost; to be disposed of according as the Committee of both Kingdoms shall direct, notwithstanding any former Order: And this Thousand Pounds shall be reimbursed for the Service formerly assigned.

Quartering Soldiers.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to consider of the Horse that are come and quartered in the County of Middlesex; and to take Order that they may be quartered and disposed of to the greatest Ease of the poor People of the Country.

Army Pay.

Ordered, That the Committee at Haberdashers Hall do forthwith pay the Sum of One hundred Pounds for the present Payment of Middlesex Forces, sent into Windsore Castle; which Hundred Pounds was promised to be paid them upon their Advance thither.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Moore's Claims.

Ordered, That Mrs. Moore, who hath suffered much in Ireland by the Rebels, and furnished the Garison of Dundalk in Ireland, with quantities of Corn, to the Value of Ninety-seven Pounds Sterling, in Time of great Necessity, which is not yet paid her, shall be satisfied the said Sum of Ninety-seven Pounds Sterling, out of the Contributions made in Holland, for the Protestants.

Dalbeir.

Ordered, That the Business concerning Dalbeir, be reported To-morrow.

Windsore Castle.

Ordered, That it be referred to Mr. Holland, Mr. Winwood, Mr. Hobby, and Mr. Corbett, to consider of present providing Five Hundred Pounds for the Garison of Windsore Castle.

Military Affairs, &c.

Sir Philip Stapilton reported from the Committee of both Kingdoms, A Letter from Colonel Rosseter, of Novembris 19: Letter from the Committee at Basing, with Two Warrants annexed, concerning the Remove of the Forces; one under the Hand of the Earl of Manchester only; the other under the Hand of the Earl of Manchester, Sir Wm. Balfour, Sir Wm. Waller. He likewise reported the Necessity of present providing a Thousand Pounds, Part of the Three thousand Pounds formerly assigned for the Garisons, to be disposed of by the Committee of both Kingdoms. He further reported the Copy of a Letter to be signed by both Speakers, and sent into the several Counties, and certain Towns of this Kingdom, together with the Ordinance of Parliament for the Assessments for Ireland.

The Letter was read; and, upon the Question, passed; and ordered to be sent unto the Lords for their Concurrence.
