April 6. Present: Earl of Halifax, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir William St. Quintin.
A memorial is read from Mr. Walpole [Paymaster of Guards, Garrisons and Land Forces, containing his demands of money for the service thereof. My Lords] ordered thereupon [issues as follows, viz.]

[My Lords] ordered [issues as follows] for the Secretaries of State for last Lady day quarter [1715] out of Civil List moneys, to wit 750l. [for salary] and 462l. 10s. 0d. for secret service, or 1,212l. 10s. 0d. together to Secretary Lord Townshend: and the like to [Secretary] Stanhope and Secretary the Duke of Montrose severally and respectively. The presentments of the Customs Commissioners are read: minutes are taken [thereupon and are endorsed] thereon.
The office of searcher of Ipswich being void by the death of Mr. Carter my Lords order a fiat for Mr. Francis Edwards for the said employment. Ibid., p. 85.
April 12. Present: Earl of Halifax, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir William St. Quintin.
Mr. Aislabie, Treasurer of the Navy, is called in. His memorial is read in relation to money wanting to pay wages to ships arrived from the Straits. [Thereupon] my Lords ordered that out of the money remaining in the Exchequer of this year's fonds (of Contributions on the Act for the Lottery anno 1714 [as by 13 Anne, c. 18]) there be issued (to John Aislabie, Navy Treasurer) 104,466l. 12s. 9¾d. to make good so much paid to the South Sea Company out of South Sea Stock towards their [the said Company's] quarter's interest ended at Lady day 1714. [The said sum is to be applied to the service of the Navy as follows: viz.]

on the head of [Navy] Ordinary for last Lady day salaries [of the Navy Commissioners and Office] 7,000 0 0
for wages, being to put ships out of pay 97,466 12

[My Lords order] Mr. Hawes to send an account of what lives are fallen [in or expired] of the Reversionary Annuities issued to the late Treasurer of the Navy.
Mr. Pulteney, Secretary at War, [is] called in. His memorial in relation to the Exceedings on the Establishment of the Forces the last year is considered.
My Lords order the papers in the [Treasury] Office relating to Mr. Green, who was executed in Scotland some years ago, to be delivered to his brother. Treasury Minute Book XXII, p. 86. Disposition Book XXIII, p. 60.

The memorial of the Duke of Grafton [is read and ordered] to be referred to the Attorney and Solicitor General.
[My Lords order Mr. Lowndes to prepare] a state of what [is] due to the several heads of the Civil List since his Majesty's accession to the Crown.
[Send] to the Attorney General about the estate left by Sir William Robinson.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer desires that Robert Page may be a weighing porter [in London port]. Treasury Minute Book XXII, p. 87.
