Thecker's Estate.

L. 1a. An Act for settling of the Estate of John Thecker Esquire, the Son, deceased, according to the Conveyance, and last Will and Testament, of John Thecker his Father, deceased.

Merton College.

L. 1a. An Act for the Avoiding of a Lease of 5,000 Years, of the Manor of Maldon, and other Lands, in the County of Surrey, Parcel of the Possessions of Merton College, in the University of Oxford, unduly procured from the said College.

Privilege.

The Keeper of the Counter, in Wood Street, called to the Bar, to know, wherefore he keepeth Peter Hutchyns, Mr. Whitaker's Servant, saith, it is upon an Action of 500l.

The Party, being called to the Bar, was set at Liberty.

Sutton's Hospital.

Relief of Creditors.

Mr. Bisse tendereth a Bill to relieve Creditors, to reform Abuses of Under Sheriffs and Bailiffs, and to limit their Fees upon Outlawries.

Committee to send for Witnesses.

[The] Committee, upon Sir Jo. Finch, Motion hath Power to send for Witnesses, to inform the Committee; but not to send for any Delinquents, [without] acquainting the House, and Order from the House.

Committee of Privileges.

Mr. Selden, Mr. Noye, Mr. Rolles, Mr. Jo. Drake, Mr. Littleton, Mr. Sherland, Mr. Pymme, Sir Tho. Barrington, Mr. Wentworth, Sir D. Digges, added to the Committee of Privileges.

Dorsetshire Election.

Sir Jo. Finch reporteth from the Committee of Privileges, that, at the Election of the Knights for Dorsetshire, where Sir Tho. Freake clearly chosen, the High Sheriff refused some, which were present, presently after the Reading of the Writ, would not admit their Voices, because they would not swear they were present at the Reading of the Writ; to which Purpose an Oath invented, and ministered. That this Oath was partially given, to some, and not to others.

Sir Tho. Freake .- - That the High Sheriff 72 Years old. - Moveth the Under Sheriff and County Clerk may be First heard ; that, if they can satisfy the Committee, and House, his sending for may be stayed.

Sir Jo. Strangways: - That the Oath, which was administered, was not by the Sheriff's Desire, but agreed upon by the Gentlemen; and that Sir Geor. Moreton had more Disadvantage by it, than Mr. Browne, by much.

Resolved, The Under Sheriff, County Clerk, being now in Town, shall attend the Committee for Privileges upon Tuesday next.

And upon Question, Resolved, The sending for the High Sheriff to be respited, till they be heard, and further Order taken by the House.
