PRAYERS.

Boswell's Exhibits to the States General.

THE Exhibits exhibited by Sir Wm. Boswell, Resident for his Majesty of Great Britain, translated out of French, and presented by Sir Wm. Boswell to the States General of the United Provinces, were this Day read; and likewise, the particular Answers reported from the Committee unto them; and likewise the Copy of a Letter translated out of Dutch, from his Majesty to the States General of the United Provinces, which was the Ground and Warrant for these Exhibits; was likewise read.

Ordered, That the Answers to these Exhibits be recommitted to the same Committee; with the Addition of Mr. Pym: And are to bring them in To-morrow: And are to meet To-morrow, at Seven of Clock, in the Star Chamber.

Declaration to the States General.

Mr. Recorder, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Crue, Mr. Rous, Mr. Pym, Mr. Whittacre;

This Committee is appointed to prepare a Declaration or Manifesto, in Answer to a Letter from his Majesty, of the First of May, to the States General of the United Provinces, concerning Mr. Strickland; and touching some other Proceedings concerning the Parliament: And are to meet this Afternoon at Two of Clock, in the inner Court of Wards; and have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records.

Warwick Castle.

Ordered, That the particular Persons which have furnished any Money or Plate towards the Maintenance of the Garison in the Castle of Warwick, shall have the publick Faith for the several Sums, and particular Parcels of Plate they have subscribed and furnished; according to a List and Schedule this Day delivered in, examined, and subscribed, by Mr. Hen. Broad, Auditor.

Advance for Plymouth.

Mr. Pym reports, that the City is content, that Four thousand Pounds, of their new Loans, shall be lent and advanced to the Relief of Plymouth: . . . desire an Ordinance for Repayment, and for pressing of Monies.

Army Affairs.

Mr. Pym, Mr. Recorder, Sir H. Vane, are appointed to go to my Lord General, to acquaint his Excellency with the Desires of this House for his present marching; and of the Readiness of the Citizens to remove all Impediments, if they lie in their Power.

Message to Lords.

Sir H. Mildmay is appointed to go to the Lords, to desire them to pass the Ordinance for Kent; the Ordinance for the Security of the Cities of London, Westminster, &c.; the additional Ordinance to the Ordinance of Sequestrations; the Explanations to the late Vow and Covenant.

Whitehall.

Ordered, That no Goods belonging to His Majesty, and remaining in Whitehall, or belonging to any of his Household Servants, be not removed thence without the particular Order of this House; and if any be removed, hat they be immediately brought back again.

Mr. Oldsworth, Mr. Marten, are appointed to see this Order put in Execution.

Exchange of Prisoners.

Mr. Long reports, from my Lord General, " That my Lord of Lyndsey was gone to Oxon; that you shall have, from him, Captain Walton, a Member of this House; and likewise, any Nobleman that is or shall be taken on this Side: And if this will not give Satisfaction, he will return from Oxon Three Weeks hence."

Customers Accounts.

Mr. Bond reports, from the Committee, the State of the old Customers Accounts: And

It is Ordered, That it be re-committed; to state it, upon all the Points of it, in Writing; and to bring it in To-morrow Morning.

Answer from Lords.

Sir H. Mildmay brings Answer, that the Lords will send a speedy Answer, by Messengers of their own.

Associated Counties.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Riche and Mr. Page;

The Lords do desire, that Mr. Jo. Pickering of Huntingtonshire may be added to the Committee of Huntingtonshire, and the other associated Counties, for the Twentieth Part; the weekly Assessments; and such other Matters as are referred to the Power of that Committee.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to the adding of Mr. Jo. Pickering to the Committees of Huntingtonshire and the other associated Counties.

Warrant to Yelverton.

Ordered, That Sir Christ. Yelverton shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant for Two of his Sons, with their Tutors and Servants, to go to Leyden in Holland, with their necessary Baggage; provided they carry no prohibited Goods.

Whitehall.

Upon a Report made from the Members of this House employed to Whitehall to take care that none of the King's Goods should be meddled with (upon an Information that there were some carrying away much of his Houshold Stuff) that there was no meddling with any of the King's Stuff, or Intention so to do; but only, according to the Ordinance of the Twentieth Part, to seize upon the proper Goods of Sir Tho. Merry, in his Chamber at Whitehall; it is thereupon Ordered, That those Officers employed by the Committee do proceed with the taking, and seizing, and conveying away, the proper Goods of Sir Tho. Merry, according to the Ordinance.

Tilbury Fort.

Upon the reading of the Propositions concerning the Fort of Tilbury.

The Question being put, for the Proposition for billeting some of the Garison Soldiers at Gravesend Town;

It passed with the Negative.

The Propositions were ordered to be referred to the Committee for the Six associated Counties, to prepare and cast into an Ordinance.

Associated Counties.

An Ordinance for raising of Twenty-thousand Men in the Six associated Counties; as also, Chirurgeons and Trumpeters; and Monies for the solding, arming, and paying of them; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto.

Passes granted.

Ordered, That Mrs. Mary Fountaine, Wife to Mr. Peter Fountaine, Merchant Stranger; Peter, Hannah, and Hester, their Children; Mary Maryn, her Niece; Elizabeth Russell, her Nurse; Sarah Grant, and Mary Scott, her Servants; with their Trunks, Apparel, and other Baggage; shall have Warrant to pass beyond Seas.

Ordered, That the like Order be granted for Mary Vander Cruysse, a Stranger born, for herself and her Five Daughters, with a Servant Maid, to go for Rotterdam, with her woollen, linen Apparel, and some small Household Stuff.

Ordered, That Mrs. Mary Altoffe, Servant to the Queen of Bohemia, shall have Pass to go to the Haigue, with Two Trunks of Cloaths, and Linen, and one Maid Servant.

Ordered, That Anne Wardall, Eliz. Brooke, Constance Evarden, and John Reynolds, a Child of Ten Years old, shall have the like Warrant to pass beyond Seas.

Prisoners of War.

The humble Petition of divers Knights, Doctors in Divinity, and Clergymen, Esquires, Gentlemen, Commanders, and Officers, Prisoners in the Ship called the Prosperous Sarah, now riding in the River of Thames; and likewise, the Petition of divers Gentlemen, formerly Prisoners in Elye House; and the Petition of Dr. Sterne; were this Day read; and ordered to be referred to the Committee for the Militia; and that it be recommended unto them, in a special Manner, to take care that the Prisoners aboard the two Ships be accommodated according to their several Quality and Conditions; and that the commoner Sort be separated from the better; and that they do particularly take care of the Sick, the Wounded, and such as are upon Exchange.

Essex Forces.

Whereas there are great and pressing Occasions of Monies, for the Payment of the associate Forces belonging to the County of Essex, both with the Lord General, and now going forth with the Earl of Manchester, Serjeant Major General of the Forces of the Six associate Counties, raised and to be raised for the Defence of the Kingdom, and of the said Counties, now in Danger to be invaded by the Enemy; it is Ordered, by the Commons in Parliament, That the Committees for the Fifth, and Twentieth Part, of the several Divisions of the said County of Essex, do cause the Monies taxed upon the same to be forthwith collected and paid to Sir Thomas Barrington, appointed Treasurer for the receiving of the said Monies; and that the Collectors fail not in the speedy collecting and Payment thereof to the said Sir Thomas Barrington; as they will answer the contrary. Lastly, It is Ordered, by the said Commons, that the said Committees, or any Two of them, do forthwith certify, under their Hands, to the said Sir Thomas Barrington, a true Copy of the Assessments of the said Fifth, and Twentieth Part, within their several Divisions.

Earl of Bedford's Trunks.

Sir Robert Pye reports from the Committee appointed to search the Trunks of the Earl of Bedford in Mr. Trenchard's House, the Particular of the Goods there.

Ordered, That Mr. Trenchard do keep the Goods, and the Keys of the Trunks; and not deliver them without the Leave of the House.

Essex Forces.

Ordered, That the Deputy Lieutenants of Essex be enjoined to go down To-morrow, into the County of Essex, to attend the Earl of Manchester, General of the Forces in the Six associated Counties; to further the raising of Forces; and to give the County Thanks, in the Name of this House, for their Zeal and Forwardness to preserve Religion and Liberty.

Dodd's Imprisonment.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Examinations, to consider of the Imprisonment of Mr. Dodd, the poor Irish Minister, that discovered to this House the Names of the Irish Rebels at Oxford, who is arrested here in Westminster; and, if they find Cause, to release him, and set him at Liberty: And the Bailiff of Westminster, in whose Custody he is, is hereby required to attend the said Committee, with the said Mr. Dodd, this Afternoon.

Defence of Poole.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committees for the Counties of Dorset and Devon, to consider of the borrowing of Three hundred Pounds, out of the Four thousand Pounds to be sent to Plymouth, to send it to Poole, for the Preservation of that Place; and to consider of some Way, how that Three hundred Pounds may be paid again: And that it be referred to Sir Wm. Waller, to consider of some Course for the present Defence of Poole.

Member to attend.

Ordered, That Mr. Constantine, who is gone from the House without Leave, be sent for back by the Serjeant at Arms, at his own Charges, to attend the Service of the House.

Associated Counties.

Ordered, That all the Deputy Lieutenants of the Six associated Counties do attend the Earl of Manchester, General of the Forces raised in those Counties, in such Places as he shall desire: And the Members of this House, that are Deputy Lieutenants, are hereby required especially to attend.

Prisoner discharged.

Ordered, That Sir Wm. Whittipoole shall be forthwith discharged from any further Restraint, as to his Delinquency against this House.

Prisoners.

Ordered, That the Committee for Prisoners do consider what Prisoners, in London House, are fit to be discharged.
