| Requests them to forward the enclosed (fn. 1) to the Council of Ten; it is of no slight importance, as they can see if they please. Has no other news of England to give, but is very anxious to know the events of Italy, as in London they are discussed according to individual bias, some wishing well to Venice, others ill, so no well founded reliance can be placed on what they say. Prays them, heart and soul, to acquaint him with Italian occurrences, and to address their letters to the court of the most illustrious Madame [Louise], who writes frequently to the French ambassador in London. This office of writing will be no less beneficial for the Signory than most agreeable to himself. | |
