The Committee for Heaman's Ship, - at the same Time and Place,

Bp. of Bangor.

Sir Ew. Thelluall tendereth divers Articles against the Bishop of Bangor: Which read.

This committed to the Committee for Religion, to be examined. A Warrant from the Speaker, for Witnesses, such as Sir Ew. Thelluall shall tender to Mr. Speaker.

Ordered, The Committee of the whole House, for Evils, Causes, and Remedies, to sit To-morrow Morning: And the ingrossed Bills to be read To-morrow, at Eight Clock.

Mountagew's Book.

Mr. Pymme reporteth the Business concerning Mountagew his Books. -

1. The Motives to the Committee's Care in this Business.

2. The Heads of the Charge, with the Aggravations.

3. The Proofs of every Head.

4. The Opinion of the Committee concerning the whole Matter. -

1. The Writ. 2ly, Care of God's Religion. 3. Precedents of other States, in the like Kind, in respect of the dangerous Consequences by these Distempers; which commonly, if not presently suppressed, increase and grow. 4. Precedents of our Parliaments, in like Cases; and of the Two last Parliaments, in this Particular. -

1. That Mountagew hath disturbed our Church, contrary to the Doctrine thereof, published in 39 Articles, 1562, and contrary to the Book of Homilies ; both confirmed, by Parliament.

2. That in these Books divers Matters tending to Sedition, by setting the King against the People, and the People one against another.

3. That the whole Scope of this Book is to discountenance the true Profession of the Religion here established, and so to draw the People to Popery, and reconcile them to the Church of Rome.

That the contrarieth the Doctrine of the Church of England, in Six Points:

1. Concerning the Church of Rome.

That the Committee fully of Opinion, Montagew standeth convinced of all the Three Heads of the Charge; and that, as a publick Offender against the Peace of our Church, he should, by this House, be presented to the Lords, there to receive Punishment according to his Demerits.

Upon Question, to defer the further Debate and Resolution of this Business, concerning his Books, until Thursday Morning next, and he to have Notice thereof, that he may be then heard in the House, if he will. This Notice to be given him by Mr. Serjeant.

2ly, Upon Question, a Select Committee to consider of Interrogatories to be ministered unto him by Mr. Speaker.

This to be done by the Sub-committee, appointed by the Committee for Religion, to consider of his Books ; with Addition of Sir Tho. Hobby, Sir Nath. Rich, and Mr. Whitakers:- - Four Clock this Afternoon, in the Treasury Chamber.

And this Committee also to consider, and report their Opinions to the House, what they think fittest to be done, for Prevention of Danger, by further writing in this Business.
