PRAYERS.

Member admitted.

UPON the Report from the Committee appointed to consider of the Absence of Sir Sam. Rolle; it was Resolved, &c. That Sir Sam. Rolle shall be forthwith admitted to sit in the House.

Exchange of Prisoners.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the West, to exchange Mr. Job Weale, a Prisoner to the Par- liament, for Mr. Searle, if they shall think fit; or otherwise, upon Advice with the Committee for Prisoners, to assign some other Exchange.

Lewis' Claims, &c.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of Jo. Lewis, late of Clara, in the County of Kilkenny, in the Kingdom of Ireland, Gentleman, be referred to the Committee of the West; to consider of the Information given, in the Peti- tion, of Monies and Goods belonging to Delinquents, to be by him discovered; and to present to this House what is fit to be bestowed upon the Petitioner: And that the Residue shall be bestowed, upon Account, upon the Town of Lyme: And that they take care for seizing and securing the said Money and Goods, till the Business may be examined and determined.

Worcester- shire.

Ordered, That the Ordinance concerning Worcester- shire be read To-morrow, the Second time.

Member to go on Service of Parlia- ment.

Ordered, That Mr. Pury be injoined forthwith to go down into the Country, to advance the Service of the Parliament.

Transactions with Hol- land.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to meet with the Committee of Lords, to consider of the Complaints of the States Ambassadors, touching the Detention of their Ships, &c. shall have Liberty to confer and treat with the States Ambassadors, touching the Matters under Complaint.

Detention of Danish Ship.

Upon the Report from the Committee of the Navy, to whom was referred the Consideration of the Stay of the Denmarke Ship sent to Portesmouth, and the Petitions of the Eastland Merchants and Merchant Adventurers thereupon; it is Resolved, &c. That the Stay of the Den- marke Ship, and her Lading, lately sent into Portsmouth, be continued, until it shall appear to the Parliament what may be the Success of the Treaty between the King of Denmarke, and the Commissioners to be sent over from the State.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Green, a Member of this House, shall have the Leave of this House to go into the Country for some few Days, for Recovery of his Health.

Propositions for Peace.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to prepare a List of the Ordinances and Bills to be presented to his Majesty, with the Propositions of Peace, do bring in that List on Saturday Morning next.

The House proceeded, according to an Order of the Nine-and-twentieth of July last, upon the Propositions for a safe and well-grounded Peace.

Propositions for Peace.

(11.) To the Eleventh Proposition the House proceeds not, until the Bills and Ordinances are brought in.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this shall be one of the Propositions for a well grounded Peace;

(12.) "That an Act be passed in the Parliaments of both Kingdoms respectively, for Confirmation of the Trea- ties passed betwixt the Two Kingdoms; viz. The large Treaty; the late Treaty for the Coming of the Scots Army into England, and the Settling of the Garison of Ber- wicke; and the Treaty concerning Ireland, of * * * *: with all other Ordinances and Proceedings passed betwixt the Two Kingdoms, in pursuance of the said Treaties."

Upon the Passing of the Thirteenth Proposition,

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one of the Propo- sitions for a well-grounded Peace;

(13.) "That an Act of Parliament be passed, to make void the Cessation of Ireland, and all Treaties with the Rebels, without Consent of both Houses of Parliament; to be managed by the Joint Advice of both Kingdoms; and the King to assist, and to do no Act to discounte- nance or molest them therein."

The Fourteenth was respited, till the several Branches and Particulars of it were settled.

The First Branch of this Proposition, concerning the Nominating of such Persons as shall expect no Pardon, was respited till a further Time.

Resolved, &c. That one Branch of the Fourteenth Proposition for a safe and well-grounded Peace, shall be, "That all Papists and Popish Recusants who have been, now are, or shall be, actually in Arms, or voluntarily assisting against the Parliament, shall expect no Pardon: That all Persons who have had any Hand in the Plotting, Designing, and Assisting the Rebellion of Ireland, shall expect no Pardon: That all Irish Rebels, whether Papist or others, who have, or shall, come over from Ireland, and have assisted, or shall assist, in this War against both Houses, shall expect no Pardon."

The Fifth Branch of the Fourteenth Proposition, con- cerning the Nominating of such as shall be removed from his Majesty's Councils, &c. was respited till a further Time.

The Sixth Branch of this Fourteenth Proposition, con- cerning what Course shall be taken with such as not only have deserted the Parliament, but have voted both King- doms Traitors, was respited, until the Time of Naming the Persons that shall expect no Pardon.

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Branch of the Fourteenth Proposition; " The Persons of all others to be free, notwithstanding of any Act or Thing done in, or concerning, this War, they taking the Covenant."

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Branch of the Fourteenth Proposition; " The Estates of the Persons excepted to pay publick Debts and Damages."

Resolved, &c. That this Eighth Branch of the Four- teenth Proposition, concerning the Disposition of the Estates of Prelates, shall be left out.

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Branch of the Fourteenth Proposition; "A Third Part, upon full Value of the Estates of the Persons made incapable of any Em- ployment as aforesaid, to be employed for the Payment of the publick Debts and Damages, according to the Declaration.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to bring in a Proposition for disabling all Judges, Officers towards the Law, Lawyers and Attor- nies, that have deserted the Parliament, and adhered to the Party against the Parliament, to practise either in Publick or Private, or to receive any Advantage by their Office, Practice, or Employment; and to make them incapable of any Preferment for the future.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to bring in a Proposition for degrading all those, on whom Honour has been bestowed since the King's leaving his Parliament.

Ordered, That Mr. Recorder do, from this House, move the Common Council of London, to expedite their Propositions which they desire to present to the Consider- ation of the Houses, to be presented from them to his Majesty on the Behalf of the City, together with the Propositions concerning Peace.

Court of Wards.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Court of Wards be revived; and do meet upon * * * *.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Drake, a Member of this House, shall have Leave to go into the Country.
