Berkhampstead.
To the sheriff of Kent. Order to supersede the taking of Stephen de Delham, and to release him from prison if he is taken, by a certain mainprise, as Robert de Hardres, knight, John de Vieleston, John de Bereford and John Frere the elder have mainperned before the king in chancery for Stephen, who it is said, made some impediments so that the ninth of the parish of Halghsto near Rochester could not be sold, and who was rebellious to the sellers of the ninth in the execution of their commission, to have Stephen before the king or his council when he wishes to speak against him. Joan late the wife of John de Vienna, executrix of his will as is said, put in her place Roger de Queryngton, clerk, to prosecute the execution of a recognisance for 120 marks made to John in the late king's chancery by John de Boyland, knight.
