To Roger de Poley, escheator in cos. Southampton, Wilts, Oxford, Berks, Bedford and Buckingham. Order to cause William de Ros and Margery his wife, eldest sister and co-heir of Giles de Badlesmere, tenant in chief, to have seisin of a third part of the manor of Preston, co. Buckingham, which Elena de Brok lately held for life of the inheritance of Giles, extended at 4l. 19s. 4½d. yearly, and to cause two parts of the manor of Preston and 2s. 4¾d. rent in Couele, co. Buckingham, which Elizabeth late Giles's wife holds in dower, and all the tenements in Couele which Robert de Bradefeld holds for life, and all the tenements in Hamelden which William de Parys holds for life, and the manor of Knouk, co. Wilts, which Hugh Daudele, earl of Gloucester, holds for life, on the death of Elizabeth, Robert, William and the earl, respectively, to be assigned to William de Ros and Margery, as of the lands which belonged to Giles and which Elizabeth holds in dower, and which ought at her death to revert to Margery, Matilda, the second sister of Giles, whom John de Veer, earl of Oxford, married, Elizabeth, the third sister, whom William de Bohun, earl of Northampton, married, and Margaret the fourth sister of Giles, whom John Tibetot married, and with the assent of the said earls, John, Matilda, Elizabeth and Margaret, the king has assigned the following lands to William and Margery, to wit: the manor of Bourn, co. Sussex, extended at 78l. 12s. 6d. yearly, the manor of Heyhyngton, co. Sussex, extended at 107s. 5½d. yearly, a wood called 'Waldern' in Laghton, in the same county, extended at 18s. 2¾d. yearly, two parts of the manor of Preston, co. Buckingham, extended at 8l. 9s. 6d. yearly and 2s. 4¾d. yearly in Couele in the same county, the manor of Bokelond, co. Hertford, extended at 14l. 9s. 1d. yearly and 2s. 3¼d. rent issuing yearly from the manor of Plessy, co. Hertford; and of the lands which are held for life of the said inheritance, with reversion to the said heirs after the death of the tenants, all the tenements in Couele which Robert de Bradefeld holds for life, extended at 50s. yearly; all the tenements in Hamelden, co. Buckingham, which William de Parys holds for life, extended at 4l. 13s. 4d. yearly; the manor of Knouk, co. Wilts, which the earl of Gloucester holds for life, extended at 17l. 9s. 5d. yearly; the manor of Brendbradefeld, co. Suffolk, which Thomas de Verdon holds for life, extended at 19l. 17s. 7½d. yearly; all the tenements in Bokelond, co. Hertford, which Katherine de Bokelond holds for life, extended at 50s. yearly; all the tenements there which Matilda de Bokelond and Ellen her sister hold for life, extended at 6s. 8d. yearly; a fourth part of the manor of Thaxsted, co. Essex, which the earl of Gloucester and Margaret his wife hold for life, extended at 30l. 3s. 8¼d. yearly, to wit, the manors of Bourn, Heyhyngton and Bokland and the other tenements aforesaid after the death of the tenants; and the king has also assigned to William de Ros and Margery the said third part of the manor of Preston, 8l. 18s. 0¼d. rent to be received yearly of the manor of Wells, co. Hertford, which William Germyn and Ellen his wife lately held for Ellen's life and which is in the king's hand until the reversion of the lands assigned to William de Ros and Margery, except the lands assigned in dower to Elizabeth and a fourth part of the manor of Thaxsted to the value of 8l. 18s. 0¼d. shall fall in.
