Mr. Pyne and Mr. Crew added to the Committee for Explanation of a Branch of a Statute, made 3o Jac.

Milborne's Children.

Mr. Pymme reporteth from the Committee for Religion, the Case of Eliz. Milborne [a].

A Petition to be preferred, from this House, to his Majesty, that some legal Course may be taken, for examining and punishing the Offence of Walter Brooke, in conveying away Anne, the Daughter of Gerrard Gifford, beyond Sea, and breeding her there in Popery ; and for the better Breeding of Margarett, the other Sister.

Mr. Pymme, Mr. Rowse, Sir Nath. Rich, Mr. Packer, Sir Bea. St. John, Sir Tho. Hobby, Sir Ben. Rudyard, Sir James Perrott, to pen this Petition: - Tuesday Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Turkey Merchants.

The House informed, that, notwithstanding his Majesty's Message to this House, 19 Maii last, by Mr. Chancellor Duchy, for Delivery to the Turkey Merchants their Currants, deposited for Payment of 2s. 2d. per Ton, should be delivered them, upon Bonds, to pay whatsoever shall be found due, yet they cannot get them, though they offer Bond accordingly.

The Serjeant thereupon sent for Mr. West, who had Warrant from the Lord Treasurer to make the Bonds ; who, appointing them Yesterday Three Clock in the Afternoon, then told them, he had, within an Hour before, received .....

Recusants.

A select Committee, to consider the Two Commissions, of the North and South Parts, for compounding with Recusants: And the Sub-committee to deliver them the Two Commissions and Instructions for the South : And have Power to send for Witnesses, Persons, and Records; and to call for the Instructions of the North Commission.

Seizure of Merchant's Goods.

Mr. West, brought in, and asked by Mr. Speaker, whether he knew not of the Complaint of the Merchants, for seizing their Goods for the Imposition of 2s. 2d. denieth it: Acknowlegeth a Warrant received from the Lord Treasurer, for taking Bonds from several Persons, for Payment of several Sums. That, having made the Bonds ready, he received a verbal Message from the Lord Treasurer, to forbear to take any such Bonds, in respect of a special Command from his Majesty. This Message delivered him by the Lord Treasurer's Messenger. Resolved, To defer this for this Day.

None to go out.

Ordered, The Door to be kept, and none to go out, during the Debate.

Conference.

Mr. Glanvyle reporteth again, from the Conference with the Lords, that the Pro .... . - That there might be a Committee. -

That this Committee might have Power to consider .........

Upon Question, a Message to the Lords, to desire a Conference with the Lords, by a Committee of both Houses.

Answer : Will meet presently, in Painted Chamber.

The Reason, because unparliamentary, to be declined.

Upon Question, the Reason, because our consenting to any Nomination of a Committee, about any Declaration, Manifestation, &c. implieth our Consent to an Accommodation, as if it were in this Case necessary.

2ly, That the Reason, that the Strength of this House is in the Number of our Members; and therefore not fit to commit it to a few.

3ly, That the Reason, that this will bring great Delay to the Businesses of the King, and Christendom, which we desire to further.

These Reasons to be delivered by Sir D. Digges; and to conclude with a Desire to the Lords, to join with us in our Petition.

Sir Dud. Digs reporteth from the Lords. - They said, they would return to their House, and we should hear from them in convenient Time, by Messengers of their own.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Crew, Mr. Attorney; That the Lords have entered into Consideration of the great Business ; are now in Debate of it; which will take up long Time : Have sent to give us Notice of it, because the Time far spent.

Mr. Speaker to remember the House upon Monday, Nine or Ten Clock, concerning the Second Reading of the Subsidy.
