ROMAN CATHOLICISM.

In 1640 there were two known recusants, both women, and a family suspected of recusancy had recently left the village. (fn. 1) In 1642 the two women were still in the parish, (fn. 2) but by 1706 there were said to be no Roman Catholics in Harmondsworth. (fn. 3) In 1960 Roman Catholics in the parish were served by the West Drayton church of St. Catherine the Martyr. (fn. 4)
