Demise by John Strelley of Oxton, esquire, to John Wright of Loudeham parish, Robert Wright and Henry Smyth of Calverton, of a watermill situate in a plot of land called 'Caddeman,' on either side of the water of Doverbekke, for ten years from Whitsunday last, paying 46s. 8d. yearly, and keeping in repair all the machinery of the mill. 20 October, 19 Edward IV. Endorsed: Condition of the above bond witnessing that if the said George and Richard shall have William Bartlet before the king's justices at the next gaol delivery at Ayllysbury, and shall preserve the sheriff harmless for the said William and pay him 6s. 8d. &c. then the said bond shall be void.

The latter is charged with 16l. 8s. 8d., of which he is allowed for nine quarters of wheat 54s., for sixty quarters of oats 5l. 13s. 4d., for a boar 6s. 8d., for carriage of hay from Totham by two days, 2s. 8d., for carriage of two barrels of herrings from Maldon to Ley, 6d. &c. and 'so the forseid Thomas with thes forseid payments passith awey quyte and evyn.' 21 October, 14 Henry VII. Certificate by William Fulford, archdeacon of Barnstaple and canon of Exeter, that according to the letters of John, bishop of Exeter, (recited), he has inducted John Ilfrecomb, a monk of the priory of St. Mary Magdalene, Barnstaple, into possession of the said priory, vacant by the death of John Pylton, the late prior, on the presentation of the patron, the duchess of Exeter. 10 April, A.D. 1472. Monday before St. Valentine, 9 Richard [II]. French.

Grant by Ivo Jeke of Prestwold, and Ellen his wife, to Thomas de Strelley, in tail, of their lands and tenements in Wodeburgh called 'Founelande' on condition of the said Ellen and her heirs not being ousted from lands and tenements in Oxton called 'Waldeshefland' which Thomas has granted to her in tail. Tuesday before St. Valentine, 9 Richard II. French.

Certificate by Thomas de Strelley, that whereas the above Ivo and Ellen hold lands in Wodeburgh called 'Founeland,' in right of the latter, which they have granted to him in tail, and whereas Thomas holds in fee certain lands in Oxton called 'Waldeshefland'; he has granted the said lands in Oxton to Ellen in tail on condition that if he be [ousted] from the lands in Wodeburgh he may re-enter upon those in Oxton, and Ellen upon those in Wodeburgh. Indenture witnessing that whereas Nicholas de Strelley, knight, enfeoffed in fee simple Thomas Meres of Awburne, Thomas Hunt of Lyndeby, and Richard Metham, esquires, with all his lands &c. in Feribrigge and Friston, lately belonging to his father Sampson de Strelley, knight, by grant dated Sunday the feast of St. Gregory, 2 Henry VI. and Metham having released all his right in the premises to Meres and Hunt on Saturday the Annunciation, 2 Henry VI; the said Meres and Hunt at the special request of Nicholas demise to him the premises for his life, at a yearly rent of 3l. 6s. 8d., and undertake to keep them in their hands for eight years after his decease to be disposed of according to his will, and at the end of that term to grant them in tail male to Robert de Strelley knight, son of the said Nicholas, with similar remainder to John de Strelley son of John de Strelley, esquire, son of the said Nicholas, and remainder to the right heirs of Nicholas Strelley.
