Feb. 1.
Berwick-on-Tweed.
To the sheriff of Norfolk. Order to receive by indenture from William Hathewy, the king's baker, the barrels (dolia) of flour that he will deliver to him for the king's use, and to lead them without delay to Berwick-onTweed, there to be delivered to the keeper of the king's stores.
To the same. Order to levy the 500 marks that the men and community of that county promised to give the king to provide victuals in aid of the Scotch war, and to deliver them as levied to William Hathewy, the king's baker, to make provision therewith of wheat, receiving from him letters patent of receipt; and to receive from him the wheat and flour that he shall provide therewith, and to lead the same to Berwick-on-Tweed as above.

To Walter de Gloucester, escheator beyond Trent. Order not to intermeddle further with the lands that William Hanchache held of other lords than the king in his bailiwick, as it appears by inquisition that he held certain lands in Shudcampe of the heir of Giles de Plays, a minor in the king's wardship, by the service of one knight's fee, and that he held no other lands of the king or the said heir, but that he held divers lands of other lords; retaining in the king's hands the land that he held of the said heir.
Vacated, because in the fine roll.

Berwick-on-Tweed.
To the sheriff of Lincoln. Order to cause a coroner for that county to be elected in the place of Ivo de Flete, who is insufficiently qualified.

Berwick-on-Tweed.
To the treasurer and chamberlains of the exchequer of Dublin. Order to pay to John de Ergaill the 200 marks of arrears of the sums of 100l. that the king ordered them to pay to Alexander de Argaill for the maintenance of his men in Ireland for a certain time and of 100l. to the said John for the like purpose, the said Alexander having afterwards died, whereby all his men are intendent to the said John, who has only reserved 100 marks of the said sums, and to pay him another 100 marks for the maintenance of himself and his men from the feast of St. Martin next, receiving from him letters of acquittance. To the treasurer and barons of the exchequer. Order to discharge Walter de Gloucester, escheator beyond Trent, in his account of the issues of the lands of the late Henry de Grey, tenant in chief, of 40 marks that the king granted to Richard de Grey, son of the said Henry.

Berwick-on-Tweed.
To Walter de Gloucester, escheator beyond Trent. Order to deliver to Hugh le Despenser the manor of Cheleworth with the bailiwick of the forestry of the forest of Braden, held of the king in chief by sergeanty, together with the issues of the same, from May 25, in the second year of the king's reign, when the king granted the same to him to hold as long as they were in the king's hands by reason of the trespass that Robert de Kenes made in alienating the same in fee without the king's licence to Oliver de Sancto Amando; the said Robert having previously, by fine levied in the king's court between him and the said Hugh, granted the same to Hugh after his death.

Berwick-on-Tweed.
To the same. Order to deliver to Agnes, late the wife of John son of Reginald, the following of the knights' fees and other lands that he gave to the king, and which the king granted to him for life, which the king has assigned to her as dower: a knight's fee in Brunneshepe, which John Torel holds, of the yearly value of 20l.; a third of a knight's fee in Traneck, which Walter son of Reginald, Peter Poleyn, and William ap Phelip hold, which third is of the yearly value of 60s.; a third of a knight's fee in Stanedelf and Prutlington, which Roger de la Haye holds, which part is of the yearly value of 40s.; a third of a knight's fee in Oldeport, which John Surdefal holds, which part is of the yearly value of 40s.; a fee and a third in Mihelescruth and Tulynton, which Margery Clement and Roger de Bourehull hold, of the yearly value of 70l.
To the same. Order to deliver to the said Agnes the advowson of the church of Kochedyn, of the yearly value of 20s., which the king has assigned to her as dower of the advowsons that her late husband granted to him, which the king granted to him for life.
Feb. 4.
Berwick-on-Tweed.
To the treasurer and barons of the exchequer. Order to acquit Otto de Grandisono of the 120l. that the late king pardoned him, which he owed to the late king's exchequer for corn sent from Ireland by Stephen, then bishop of Waterford, justiciary of Ireland, to Wales for the defence of the king's castles there and the maintenance of the said Otto's household.

Berwick-on-Tweed.
To Walter de Gloucester, escheator beyond Trent. Order not to intermeddle further with the lands of Thomas de Roshale, and to restore the issues of the same, as it appears by inquisition that he held no lands in chief at his death by reason whereof the custody of his lands should pertain to the king.
