Enrolment of indenture made between Sir Nicholas Burnel, knight, and Sir William son of Sir Richard de la Pole, knight, testifying that whereas Nicholas is bound to William in 100l. by a recognisance made in chancery, to be paid at Christmas next, and is also bound to William in other 100l. by another like recognisance to be paid at Easter next, and William is bound to Nicholas in 100l. by a recognisance made in chancery, to be paid at Christmas, and in another 100l. by another like recognisance, to be paid at Easter, Nicholas grants that if he hold the manor of Pychford, co. Salop, which Sir Robert de Bradestan and Isabel his wife hold as Isabel's dower, whereof the reversion is granted to Nicholas by William and Margaret his wife to hold for William's life, and if Isabel, who is now under age, in time to come, when she is of full age, is not satisfied with her dower and recovers or takes it elsewhere, so that the manor of Pychford remains in the hands of William and Margaret or of Margaret's heirs, and Nicholas is warned by William and Margaret within a quarter of a year after the said recovery and Nicholas is suffered to enter the manor to hold in the form aforesaid, and the said agreements are observed in all points by William and Margaret, then the recognisances for 200l. made severally by William shall be null, and William grants that if Nicholas, within a month after the said warning, in case Isabel is not satisfied with her dower and receives it elsewhere, enters the manor and within a month thereafter makes estate to William and Margaret or to Margaret's heirs of two parts of that manor to hold for Isabel's life, without making waste or destruction, and if the agreements are observed by Nicholas, then the recognisances for 200l. made by him severally shall be null. Berks, and William and Peter are bound to Thomas in 100l. by a recognisance made in chancery on 10 July in the said year, Thomas grants that if William pay him or his attorney at the Purification next, at the house of Sir Thomas de Berkele the elder at Baynardes Castel in London, 52l. 10s. and 52l. 10s. at Midsummer following, then the said deed and recognisance shall be null. Enrolment of indenture testifying that whereas Thomas de Colshull of Berks has granted by charter to Sir Richard de Wilygby, knight, the elder, and to John son of Sir John Peche, knight, the manors of Elyng and Lollyngdon near Aston and a moiety of the manor of Whatecombe with the advowson of the church of that town, with all appurtenances, in Berks, and also the moieties of the manors of Freston and Edlyngton, co. Lincoln, as appears more fully by the said charter, to wit, so that the marriage take place between the said John son of Sir John Peche and Lady Isabel Mounbocher, daughter of the said Sir Richard, and that Richard pay to Thomas 1,200 marks down, which sum Thomas will pay fully for the debt of Sir John son of Bartholomew Peche, knight, and in surety for which sum Thomas will enfeoff Richard and his heirs by charter in the manor of Couele, co. Middlesex, and in the manor of Beurepeir, co. Southampton, with all appurtenances, upon which enfeoffment indentured defeasances shall be made between Richard and John son of Sir John upon condition that if John son of Sir John pay to Richard or to his attorney at Wolaton the sum of 1,200 marks, to wit, at Michaelmas next and then at the end of twelve years following, then John son of Sir John may enter the manors of Couele and Beurepeyr, and the charter of feoffment and seisin of those manors shall lose their force, and if the aforesaid agreements are duly performed on either part Thomas grants that the charter of enfeoffment for the manors of Elyng and Lollyngdon, the moiety of the manor of Whatecombe, the said advowson and the moieties of the manors of Freston and Edlyngton made by him to Richard and John son of Sir John with the seisin, shall remain in force, and John son of Sir John grants that if the said agreements are infringed in whole or in part, Thomas may enter and retain those manors, moieties and advowson. Witnesses: Sir John de Grey of Codenore, Sir Richard de Wilyghby, the younger, Sir William de Grey of Sandiacre, knights; John de Ker of Bramcote, Richard de Stapulford. Enrolment of indenture made between Sir William de la Pole, knight, the elder, and Sir William de la Pole, the younger, son of Sir Richard de la Pole, knight, testifying that William the younger has granted to William the elder a yearly rent of 50 marks of his lands in Drayton, co. Norfolk, a yearly rent of 20 marks of his lands in Cristeshale, co. Essex, a yearly rent of 20 marks of his lands in Everton, co. Huntingdon, and a yearly rent of 10 marks of his lands in Potton, co. Bedford, William the elder grants that for all the time that he, Katherine his wife and his heirs, hold 90 acres of arable land, 84 acres of meadow and 2 windmills together with the pastures and agistments pertaining thereto, and the two parts of a messuage called 'Tupcotes' with appurtenances which William the younger and Margaret his wife have in Oustmerk and Myton upon Humbre, which the said William and Katherine have of the gift of William and Margaret by a fine levied in the king's court; and if William and Katherine and William's heirs, after the death of Dame Joan wife of Sir Thomas de Chaworth hold 45 acres of arable land, 42 acres of meadow and a third part of the said messuage with appurtenances, which Thomas and Joan hold as Joan's dower in Oustmersk and Mitone upon Humbre, the reversion whereof is granted to William, Katherine and William's heirs by William the younger, without being amoved by judgment at the suit of William the younger, Margaret or the heirs of their bodies, that for all the said time the said four deeds for the yearly rents shall be in suspense, and if William and Katherine are so amoved, the deeds shall remain in force. Order, upon pain of forfeiture, to cause proclamation to be made that no one shall take wool, wool-fells or hides from England or the marches thereof to the town of Berwick upon Tweed or to any other parts of Scotland upon any pretext upon pain of forfeiture of life and members and goods and chattels to the king and of their lands to the chief lords; and when he has done this he shall inform the king in chancery of the places in which the proclamation was made, so that henceforth no one may excuse himself that he was not duly warned, as the premises have been ordained by the king and his council.
