To the escheator in Dorset. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with six messuages, two carucates of land, 10 acres of meadow, 200 acres of hill pasture, 8 acres of wood and 15s. of rent in Wyle, a messuage, a toft, two carucates of land, 15 acres of meadow and 10 acres of wood in Dalewode, delivering to Thomas Bonevyle brother of William any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Thomas Gille late escheator, that John Strecche, John Passeware clerk, John Churchehill, John Bevyn, Thomas Brokhampton, Walter Walisshe and Andrew Rydon were thereof seised, and by writing indented, dated Shete, 6 June, 3 Henry IV, gave the premises, by name of all their lands in Wyle and Burgh in Dalewode to William Bonevile knight and Alice his wife and to the heirs between them begotten, with remainder to William Bonevile son of John Bonevile deceased (defuncti) and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to Thomas brother of William son of John and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to William Bonevile son of the said William Bonevile knight and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to the heirs male of the body of William Bonevile knight, remainder as to one moiety to Katherine wife of John Wyke and to the heirs male of her body, as to the other moiety to Elizabeth wife of Thomas Carrew knight and to the heirs male of her body, remainder to the right heirs of William Bonevile knight, that the said William and Alice were thereof seised in fee tail and died without issue, that the said William son of John did enter in his remainder and was seised in fee tail, and died so seised without issue male, that by virtue of the said gift the premises belong to Thomas his brother yet living and to the heirs male of his body, and that all are held of others than the late king.
To the escheator in Devon. Order to take the fealty of Thomas brother of William Bonevile, and to give him livery of tenements in Northlegh and Axmynstre, and the issues thereof taken, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with other the manors, lands, advowsons etc. hereinafter mentioned, delivering to him any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Humphrey Poyntz late escheator, that John Strecche, John Passeware clerk, John Churchehull, John Bevyn, Thomas Brokampton, Walter Walshe and Andrew Rydon were seised of the manors of Shete, Whiscombe and Uppehay, two messuages, one carucate of land, 5 acres of meadow, 10 acres of wood in Northlegh, a messuage, one carucate of land in Suthlegh, a messuage, one carucate of land, 5 acres of meadow, 20 acres of wood in Douylesheyes, a messuage and appurtenances in Braysheyghes, 40 acres of land upon the hill, 20 acres of wood in Borcombe, a messuage and the fourth part of one carucate of land in Blakelegh, three messuages, 100 acres of land, 8 acres of meadow in More within the manor of Whitford, a messuage, half a carucate of land, 5 acres of meadow and 6 acres of wood in Peyngtours, a messuage, 40 acres of land in Panyotesheighes, a messuage and the fourth part of one carucate of land in Nore, two messuages and one carucate of land in Leggesheighes, a messuage, 40 acres of land, 4 acres of meadow, 10 acres of pasture in Sydebury, a messuage, 100 acres of land, 6 acres of meadow and 10 acres of wood in Estmembery, seven messuages, 100 acres of land, 10 acres of meadow and 10 acres of pasture in Weryngeston, twelve messuages and one carucate of land in Axmynstre, 60 acres of land in Chalangre, and the advowsons of the churches of Northlegh and Southlegh, and by charter indented (as in the last) gave the premises, by name of their manors of Shete, Whiscombe and Uppehay and all their lands in Northlegh and Southlegh, with the advowsons, and in Doualesheighes, Brayheighes, Borcombe, Blakelegh, More, Payntours, Panyotesheyes, Nore, Leggesheyes, Sydbury, Estmembery, Weryngeston, Axmynstre and Chalangre to William Bonevile knight and Alice his wife, with remainders (as in the last), that William Bonevile knight and Alice died without issue between them begotten, that William son of John Bonevile entered the premises in his remainder, and died without issue male, that Thomas Bonevile his brother is yet living and of full age, and that the same ought to remain to him and the heirs male of his body, that William Bonevile knight was seised jointly with Alice his wife of two messuages, 120 acres of land, 17 acres of meadow, 4 acres of wood and 4 acres of aldergrove in Whiteford by grant of Edward Courtenay earl of Devon and Maud his wife for their lives, rendering to the grantors and to the earl's heirs 34s. 5d. a year, with remainder to William son of John Bonevile and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to Thomas his brother and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to the heirs of the body of the said knight, as appears by one part of a fine levied in the court of King Henry IV, that William and Alice were thereof seised as of freehold, and died, that William son of John entered the premises in his remainder, and died without issue male, that the same ought to remain to the said Thomas and to the heirs male of his body, and that the tenements in Northlegh are held of King Henry VI as of his duchy of Lancaster by fealty and the service of one rose for all services, the tenements in Axmynstre of that king as of his honour of Bradenynche, parcel of his duchy, by fealty and the service of 1d. a year at Michaelmas for all services; and by letters patent of 1 February, 37 Henry VI, that king pardoned the trespasses herein committed.

To the escheator in Devon. Order to take the fealty of Thomas Bonevile, and to give him livery of a messuage in the city of Exeter situate by the south gate, late of Nicholas Audeley knight; as it is found etc. (as above) that William Bonevile knight was thereof seised, that he had issue John, who had issue William Bonevile and the said Thomas, that by will he devised the same to Alice his wife for life, by name of his inn there, with remainder to the heirs male of his body, that by the custom of the said city time out of mind all tenements therein are devisable by will, that the said Alice died, and after her death William Bonevile entered the said messuage or inn as cousin and heir male of the said knight, being thereof seised in fee tail, that he died without issue male, that Thomas Bonevile is his brother and heir male, and cousin and heir male of the said knight, namely son of John his son, and is of full age, and that the said messuage is held of King Henry in free burgage by fealty for all services.

To the escheator in Berkshire. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Estbury, delivering to Fulk Bourghchier esquire, Thomas Ormonde esquire and Anne his wife any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Thomas Lynde esquire the late king's escheator, that Anne late duchess of Exeter at her death held no lands in Berkshire in chief in demesne nor in service, but that Richard Hankford was seised of the said manor, except 6 acres of land called 'Hobberhorteslond' and a wood containing 12 acres whereof Robert Wynard and John Dabernon were seised by his feoffment, that by charter indented he demised the manor, with those exceptions, to William Floyre and Thomasia his wife for their lives, rendering yearly 10l. during the life of William Floyre and 20l. after his decease, that Thomasia died and William Floyre overlived her, that Richard Hankford esquire after by charter gave the said rent and the reversion of the said manor, with the exceptions aforesaid, to James Gascoyne, John Dabernon, William Blenche and Thomas Cowyk and to their heirs, and William Floyre attorned tenant to them, that by charter indented they demised the same to Richard Hankford esquire and Anne his wife, and to the heirs of the said Richard, and William Floyre attorned tenant to them, that they were thereof seised, the said Richard in his demesne as of fee and the said Anne as of freehold, that Richard died, and Anne overlived him, and died thereof so seised, that the said Fulk and Anne wife of Thomas Ormonde are right heirs of Richard Hankford, Fulk being son of Thomasia his daughter and Anne being his daughter, and that the manor was held of another than the late king.
To the escheator in Somerset. Like order concerning the manors of Norton and Novyngton, upon the finding of an inquisition, taken before Henry Flexby the late king's escheator, that the said duchess at her death held those manors by grant of James Gascoyne, John Dabernon, William Blenche and Thomas Cowyk to her and Richard Hankeford esquire sometime her husband now deceased and to the said Richard's heirs, that held the manor of 'Est Crammer' for life by grant of John Coker and Eleanor his wife, with remainder to the right heirs of Richard Hankford, and a messuage, 40 acres of land and 6 acres of meadow in Pyntele, a messuage in Tanton, a messuage, a garden and 3 acres of land in Grasecroft, and a messuage, a garden and 2 acres of land in Cokstrete by demise of William Foleforde and Thomas Kyngston, by name of all messuages, lands, rents, reversions and services in Tanton, Pyntele, Grasecroft and Cokstrete which they had jointly with Richard Hankford by feoffment of John Sherreve and John Phelpes of Langford by Tanton, to her for life with remainder to the right heirs of Richard Hankford, and that the same were held of others than the late king.
To the escheator in Devon. Like order, mutatis mutandis, upon the finding of an inquisition, taken before Thomas Botreaux late escheator, that the said duchess at her death held the manors of Rolleston, Combintenhede, Cokebury, Heghen, Hewyssh, Yenstowe, Herford, Ernescombe, Westdowne, Holywyll, Clyfford, Sheftrygge, Hankford, Horton, Yaddibury and Anery, among other things, by demise of James Gasquoyne, John Dabernon, William Blenche and Thomas Cowyk to her and Richard Hankford esquire sometime her husband and to the said Richard's heirs, that she held 6l. 13s. 4d. of rent in Rasshelegh issuing from seventeen messuages, seven carucates of land, 40 acres of meadow, 60 acres of wood and 60 acres of furze and heath, by demise of the same to the said Richard and Anne and the heirs of the said Richard, also 111s. 5d. of rent issuing from thirteen messuages and thirteen ferlings of land in Bokyssh, Strokesworthy, Almyston, Hodesford, Meddon, Holecombe, Westhole, Uppecote, Hallesdon, Witherigge, Langetre, Assherigge and Peadecombe, that by demise of the said James, John, William and Thomas, by name of all their lands etc. in Yenstaple, Stapeldon, 'Westecombe, Estecombe,' Vyraworthy, 'Newelonde,' Luttesdon, Slade, Molton, Estecote, Bowre, Heye, Beueshil, Poghill, Penhay, Paysshecote, Molhanger, Fenton, Hille, Badyngcote, Langetre, Toriton, Beme, Uppecote Hals, Uppeanery, Bideford, Heaunton Davy, Merlond St. Peter, Illers, Almersdoun and Codeworthy. To the escheator in Worcestershire. Order to take the fealty of Margaret wife of William Lucy knight, and to give her livery of the manor of Coterugge, and the issues and profits thereof taken since the acquisition thereof by the feoffees, and since her husband's death; as it is found by inquisition, taken before John Rugge late escheator, that long before his death William Lucy was thereof seised, and without licence of the late king by charter thereof made a feoffment to Thomas Billyng, John Catesby, John Esyngwold and John Graunger, their heirs and assigns, that likewise without licence they by charter gave the same to the said William and Margaret and to the heirs of his body by her, that she has overlived him, and that the manor was held of the late king by the service of the eighth part of one knight's fee; and for a fine paid in the hanaper by letters patent of 10 March, 35 Henry VI, that king pardoned the said feoffees and Margaret for the trespasses herein committed, and the issues and profits since the date of the acquisition aforesaid.
To the escheator in Bedfordshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, for livery of the manor of Lyghtgrave, upon the finding of an inquisition, taken before John Flegge late escheator, that the same was held of the late king by the service of the twentieth part of one knight's fee; as the king has ordered the escheator in Worcestershire to take the fealty of the said Margaret.

To the escheator in Cumberland. Order to take of Elizabeth who was wife of Christopher Moresby esquire an oath that she shall not marry without licence of the king, and in presence of Christopher Moresby son and heir of her husband, or of his attorneys, to assign her dower.

Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the messuages, lands, wood and rent hereinafter mentioned, delivering to Master John Hylle any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Vincent Pyttelesden the late king's escheator, that Thomas Coote parson of Enemere, John Lake and John Parl were seised of five messuages and 30 acres of land in the city and suburbs of Exeter in the parish of St. Sativola without the east gate, John Lake in his demesne as of fee and the others as of freehold for their lives, and gave the same to John Hulle otherwise Hylle for life, with remainder to Dionysia his wife for life, remainder to the heirs male of his body, remainder to the heirs of the body of Robert his son, remainder to John Malet and Joan his wife and to the heirs of their bodies, remainder to the right heirs of John Hulle, as appears by the part of a fine thereof levied, that John Hulle had issue Robert Hylle and Master John Hylle, that the premises, besides three shops and four gardens thereof which at the date of the fine were a messuage and one acre of land, are and ever have been in the said suburb, that John Hulle and Dionysia died, and the said Robert entered and was thereof seised in fee tail, that he had issue John Hylle and died, that John Hylle entered and was thereof seised in fee tail, and had issue John Hylle, that he died and John Hylle entered as son and heir of John son of Robert, and was thereof seised in fee tail, that he assigned a third part of the premises in dower to Cicely wife of Thomas Kyryell knight, who was wife of John son of Robert, that he died seised of two thirds thereof remaining, that after his death those two thirds and the reversion of one third remained and ought to remain to Master John Hylle as son and heir male of the body of John Hulle otherwise Hylle, that Thomas Coote, John Parl and Thomas Nottecombe were seised, Thomas Coote in his demesne as of fee, John Parl and Thomas Nottecombe as of freehold for their lives, of three messuages, three carucates of land, 16 acres of meadow, 20 acres of wood and 13s. of rent in Heth St. Mary, Haghorn, Westcote, Beare, Halscombe and Forde, and gave the same to Robert son of John Hulle and to the heirs male of his body, with remainder to the heirs male of the body of John Hulle, remainder to the heirs of the body of the said Robert, remainder to John Malet and Joan his wife and to the heirs of their bodies, remainder to the right heirs of John Hulle, as appears by the part of a fine thereof levied, that Robert had issue John Hylle and died, that John Hylle entered as son and heir male of his body, and was thereof seised in fee tail, that he had issue John Hylle now deceased and died, that John Hylle entered as his son and heir male of his body, and was likewise seised, that he assigned etc. (as above), that he died seised of two thirds of the premises without issue male, that the two thirds thereof and the reversion of one third remained and ought to remain to Master John Hylle as son and heir male of the body of John Hulle, and that all are held of others than the king.

Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Wodeford, two messuages in Plymmouth, and two messuages and four ferlings of land in Otery St. Mary called Gosford, late of John Trelay, delivering up any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Humphrey Poyntz late escheator, that William Bonevile at his death held the said manor jointly with Elizabeth his wife by feoffment of Robert Hill of Shilston, Robert Godde clerk, Thomas Brogheton, Nicholas Holbeme, Otho Churchehill and William Langham, the messuages in Plymmouth likewise by feoffment of Thomas Britte, to them and the heirs of William Bonevile, that within the said town of Otery there was a custom time out of mind that all women after the death of their husbands should have and hold for life in name of dower all the lands therein whereof their husbands were seised, so long as they should live unmarried, and that all the premises are held of others than the king.
