Westminster.
To John Markham and his fellows justices appointed to hold pleas before the king. Order at suit of the king and of all lieges who will sue, over and above all or any records, writs, indictments, fines and memoranda now or hereafter before them, at their discretion to adjudge all writs of renewed summons and attachment and of other process to the effect following, mutatis mutandis as the case shall require.
Form of writ in name of King Edward, reciting that Henry called king of England the sixth for a time did exercise the royal dignity and power by usurpation without lawful title, and was in fact thereof possessed, and the king's will that judicial acts in his name and by his authority shall duly take effect, and summoning A.B. to appear before the justices at Westminster in the octaves of Trinity to hear the record and judgment of a cause before John Prysot and his fellows the late king's justices of the Bench between J.H. and the said A.B. for detinue of 40s., so that the cause be in the same state as in the octaves of St. Hilary last, on which day it was adjourned until the quinzaine of Easter then next, before which day it remained sine die for that the king as cousin and true heir of Edward III and Richard II, undoubted kings of England, did take upon him the dignity, power and governance of king, removing the said Henry.

Like writ to the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer.
June 6.
Westminster.
To the justices appointed to take all assizes, juries etc. arraigned in the counties of Southampton, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall before justices whatsoever by divers writs of the king and by King Henry V and Henry VI. Like order, mutatis mutandis, over and above all assizes, juries and certificates on any records, writs etc. (as above).
To the justices appointed etc. in the counties of Oxford, Berkshire, Worcester, Stafford, Salop, Hereford and Gloucester. Like order.
To the justices appointed etc. in the counties of Northampton, Warwick, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham and Derby. Like order.
To the justices appointed etc. in the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Huntingdon, Bedford and Buckingham and in the city of Norwich. Like order.
To the justices appointed etc. in the counties of Essex, Hertford, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Middlesex. Like order.
To the justices appointed etc. in the counties of York, Northumberland, Cumberland and Westmoreland, the city of York and the towns of Newcastle upon Tyne and Kingston upon Hull. Like order.
June 1.
Westminster.
To the sheriff, mayor, bailiffs, burgesses, men or other the receivers for the time being of the town of Southampton. Order to pay to Richard earl of Warwick 154l. a year for life and the arrears; as by letters patent of 7 May last, the king of his mere motion and knowledge granted to him for life the office of constable of Dovorre castle, and all rents and services called 'castelwarde' thereto belonging, all herbage and farms for herbage within the castle and without, advowsons of churches, vicarages, chapels and chantries, hospitals and other benefices within the castle or thereto belonging, the wardenship of the Cinque Ports and all forfeitures and commodities, 'shares,' wrecks of the sea, profits etc. which should pertain to the king or he should have by reason of forfeiture, contempt or otherwise had that grant not been made, taking in that office 300l. a year for his maintenance and maintenance of priests, serjeants, watchmen, officers and craftsmen of the king there residing, even as Humphrey late duke of Gloucester had, namely 146l. of wards to the said castle pertaining and 154l. of the farm or fee farm of the town of Southampton, rendering no account to the king.
