Jan. 9.
Westminster.
To John Wayte, Thomas Canteshangre, John Waryn, Nicholas Bray and William Waspail, lately appointed with Richard Schoteneye in the county of Suthampton, the town of Suthampton and Isle of Wight excepted, to assess and collect the subsidy granted by the commons in the last parliament of three groats upon every lay person of the realm, man and woman. Order to execute their commission without awaiting the presence of the said Richard, whom it is the king's will to discharge; as lately by letters patent the king granted him for life liberty not to be put on assizes etc., and not to be mayor, sheriff, collector, assessor etc. against his will.
To the sheriff of Suthampton. Order to command John Wayte (and the others named) to execute their commissions etc. (as above).
1380. Dec. 5.
Northampton.
Order to the sheriff of Wiltesir to cause a verderer in the forest of Braden to be elected instead of Richard Urdele, who is insufficiently qualified.
Nov. 7.
Northampton.
Like order, mutatis mutandis, for election of a coroner in Lincolnshire instead of Ivo Batson.
1381. Jan. 16.
Westminster.
To William Hardres, John Proude and William Horslake, lately appointed with Geoffrey Trendeley to assess and levy in the city and suburbs of Canterbury the subsidy of three groats upon every lay person. Order upon their allegiance and at their peril to busy themselves therein without awaiting the presence of the said Geoffrey; as the king has removed him by reason of insufficient qualification and for other causes.
1380. Dec. 26.
Westminster.
To William de Walshale, Griffin de Wareyne, Thomas de Gatacre and John de Welyngton of Cleobury, lately appointed with John Tylere of Shrewsbury surveyors and controllers in Salop of the assessment of the subsidy (above mentioned). Order at their peril to busy themselves therein without the town and suburb of Shrewsbury, not awaiting the presence of the said John Tylere; as the king has appointed him with Robert Grafton and William Pusleye assessors and collectors within the said town and the suburb thereof, discharging him of the office first mentioned.
1381. Jan. 16.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Kent. Order to command Nicholas atte Crouche, Thomas Goudneston, Andrew Wodhull, William Torgold, Richard Northwych, Marcellus atte Lese, Simon Feltworth and John Somery, lately appointed with Richard Feveresham assessors and collectors of the (aforesaid) subsidy in Kent, the city of Canterbury excepted, to execute their commission without awaiting the presence of Richard Feveresham, whom the king has discharged; as he is too aged and infirm to travail therein without hurt.
To Nicholas atte Crouche (and the others above named). Order to execute etc. (as above.)

To Richard Aungevyn of Dunstaple, Geoffrey Maydenbury, John atte Park of Luton, John Broun, John Blundel of Northyevele, William Laurence of Helewelle and William Saundreston of Mershton, appointed with John Risele assessors and collectors in Bedfordshire of the (aforesaid) subsidy. Order to execute their commission without awaiting the presence of John Risele, whom the king has discharged; as the late king by letters patent granted him for life liberty not to be put on assizes etc., and not to be mayor, sheriff, collector etc.
