To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas in respect of any process against John Bridlyngton, appointed with others to make inquisition whether certain merchants of Yorkshire and Northumberland, conspiring of malice aforethought to impoverish the king's liege men who had wool and woolfells of their own growth in those parts, have by covin withdrawn themselves thence, not willing to buy the same during a set time between them limited, that so the wool etc. may become rotten or the owners be compelled to sell them at a cheap price at the merchants' will, in contempt of the king and to the ruin of his people, and order to release any distress upon him made; as that commission was never delivered to the said John, as he has made oath in chancery. Condition thereof, that if it may be found by the accounts of the collectors of the fee of the chamberlain of England in times past or by other evidence that Robert father of William de Wylughby knight, or any other his ancestor whose heir he is, paid heretofore 100s. for the said fee, or if by search or otherwise it may be found that the said Robert or any other his ancestor held any lands of the king by service of a barony and that the said Robert died thereof seised, this recognisance shall remain in force, otherwise it shall be null and void.

Request, if John Aysshe will give up letters patent by them made him concerning a maintenance for life which he has in that abbey at command of the late king, to take the same again, and to admit William Frye to their house, granting him for life that maintenance, making him letters patent under the seal of the house with mention of what he shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as the said John is minded to demise the said maintenance, it is said, to the end that William Frye may have it, and the king has granted the same to him for life. Writ of supersedeas until the octaves of the Purification next in respect of their demand upon Thomas Stones escheator in Salop and Simon le Clerke of Albrighton to answer or account for the issues of a messuage and the moiety of one virgate of land in Albrighton and Bisshton; as a plea is pending in the king's court between the king and the said Simon, whether that messuage and land ought to pertain to the king or to him. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Spryngthorp clerk and John Sheldewyche, in favour of Thomas Ikham, whom the king lately ordered the sheriff to attach, so as to have him before the barons of the exchequer on the morrow of Michaelmas in order to hear judgment concerning his contempt, and to content the king of 14l. 6s. 8d., levying that sum meantime of the lands and chattels of the citizens so as to have the money at the exchequer at the day named, for that by him, being their bailiff, the citizens of Canterbury lately came at the exchequer and caused a view of his account for the first half year of 19 Richard II, whereby the said sum is due to the king, and in contempt of the king withdrew without his licence, not having contented him of the said debt. Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 200l., made in chancery 12 July this year by William Skreen, George Fay, William Blakenay and Simon Outelay for John de Chaddesey and John his son, that they shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Richard Perers.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Walter de Cherlton, son and heir of Robert de Cherlton appointed with others to make inquisition by good men of the lordships of the manors of Fekenham and Neubury co. Worcester concerning trespasses, extortions, misprisions, champerties, ambidextries, regratings, forestallings, oppressions, quarrels, maintenances, forgeries, deceits, conspiracies, excesses etc. whatsoever within those lordships committed against the king, his tenants and others of the people, and likewise appointed to survey and examine certain petitions and bills presented to the chancellor by the abbot of Deulencres containing divers trespasses, extortions, excesses etc. committed against the king, the abbot, his men, tenants and servants, and others of the people in Staffordshire, or process against the said Robert's executors or the tenants of his lands, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as the said Walter has made oath in chancery that those commissions were not delivered to his said father in his life time. Thomas de Colney, son and heir of John de Colney the elder, to Walter Kynge citizen and grocer of London, his heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of all the lands etc. in the parish of Walton upon Thames co. Surrey which he had by inheritance after his said father's death, except Launcelyns or Lancelettes.
