1340. Id. Mar. Avignon. (f. 3d.)	Deprivation of Stephen called ‘Makon,’ of all his benefices in the diocese of Cambray, he having presented to the bishop the citation issued by the king of England, acting as vicar of Lewis of Bavaria, condemned for heresy.
	Concurrent mandate to three persons beneficed out of England.
12 Kal. Sept. Avignon. (f. 89d.)	To Master Thomas Fastolf, of Yarmouth, D.C.L. canon of Bangor papal chaplain and auditor. Reservation, at the request of Gotius, cardinal of St. Prisca's, whose chaplain he is, of the archdeaconry of Norwich, about to be void by the promotion of William de Norwico, papal chaplain, to the deanery of the same. The canonry and prebend of Bangor and church of Stalham, in the diocese of Norwich, are to be resigned.
	Concurrent mandate to the abbot of St. Benedict Hulme, to Laurence Fastolf, canon of London, and another named.
4 Id. Nov. Avignon. (f. 104.)	To the abbot of Bordeslegh, in the diocese of Worcester, the dean of Lichfield, and the archdeacon of Norwich. Mandate to execute the ordinances touching apostates, in regard to Roger de Worfeld, monk of Worcester, who having left the Benedictine order, desires to be reconciled thereto.
3 Non. Nov. Avignon. (f. 111d.)	To Walter de Burleya. Decree certifying a copy from the register of letters of John XXII. dated Avignon, 5 Kal. Aug. anno 2, the original being lost, whereby the dean of Lincoln, the archdeacon of Huntingdon, and Richard de Plumstok, canon of Lincoln, were ordered to give to Walter the church of Pitchesley, value 20l. On obtaining this, Walter was to resign that of Wellbergh (Wellingborough).
12 Kal. Nov. Avignon. (f. 118d.)	To the bishop of Connor. Mandate to grant a dispensation to Moryirdach Ofloyn and Margaret Savage to intermarry, in order that peace may be made between their families; notwithstanding that they are related in the third and fourth degree of kindred.
7 Kal. Dec. Avignon. (f. 119.)	To William la Zouche, dean of York. Relaxation of the oath which he was forced to take when, on his appointment to the deanery, as he was journeying near Geneva on the hitherside of the bridge in the land of the count of Geneva, he was seized by John de Blunee, or Blonay, Odo de Verde, and another named William, knights, and by William de Sancto Germano, and Nicholas de Sancto Apro, citizens of Geneva, and, together with his clerks and servants, dragged off to a lonely place beyond the lake of Lausanne, in the land of Lewis de Sabaudia, where they were despoiled of their money and other goods, and together with Ralph Tourvil (or Turvyle), canon of Lichfield, made to swear not to reveal the names of the brigands, and to return with 200 florins ransom.
4 Id. Jan. Avignon. (f. 128d.)	To the abbot of St. Albans, and Master Ralph de Turvyle, canon of Lichfield, and the official of London. Mandate to execute the ordinances made touching apostates in regard to William Blasi, canon regular of Holy Cross, Waltham, who by the influence of some envious persons has been turned out of the monastery, and excommunicated by the abbot, and, being unable to get absolved from this sentence, renounced the monastery, and, having returned to the world, now desires to be reconciled to his order.
12 Kal. Jan. Avignon. (f. 131d.)	To Bartholomew Turellis. Provision, at the request of the king, whose clerk he is, of a canonry of Wells, with reservation of a prebend; notwithstanding that he has the church of Elderadenore, in the diocese of Hereford, value 26l. 13s. 4d.
	Concurrent mandate to the bishop of Hereford, the dean of Lincoln, and Richard the Thormerton, canon of Exeter.
12 Kal. Jan. Avignon. (f. 139.)	To the king. Indult that his confessor shall absolve him from the sentence of excommunication which he has incurred by laying violent hands on a priest when trying to keep off the pressure of a crowd.
Ibid.	To the same. Indult that the dean or principal chaplain of the chapel royal for the time being shall hear the confessions of those in attendance on the king who are unable to reach their parish churches.
5 Id. Mar. Avignon. (f. 165.)	To the bishop of Glasgow. Mandate to grant a dispensation to John Stuard, and Alice, daughter of Reginald More, to remain in the marriage which they contracted by dispensation of the dean of St. Mary's les Andeleys, by commission of the archbishop of Rouen; they having made espousals when with David, king of Scotland, at the Chateau Gaillard, but not domiciled there; such dispensation having been given in ignorance that John was related to William de Herth, Alice's former husband, in the fourth degree of kindred. Provision of the deanery of Lincoln, void by the promotion of Anthony, bishop of Norwich; notwithstanding that he has the archdeaconry of Norwich, and a canonry of Lincoln, with expectation of a prebend, which are to be resigned.
	Concurrent mandate to the archdeacon of Canterbury, Master John de O[rleton], canon of Hereford, and another named.
Id. Aug. Avignon. (f. 179.)	To the archbishop of Canterbury. Mandate to compel by excommunication those who have any part in the hindering William de la Zouch, dean of York, from coming to the pope, to desist from the same.
Kal. Oct. Avignon. (f. 203.)	To Master William de Norwico, dean of Lincoln, papal chaplain. Faculty to dispose of his personal property by will.
3 Id. Sept. Avignon. (f. 227.)	To the bishop of Dunblane. Mandate to grant a dispensation to John de Kyndeloch and Margaret de Rusky to remain in the marriage which they have contracted, notwithstanding that they are related in the fourth degree of kindred, declaring their past and future offspring legitimate. 11 Kal. Jan. Avignon. (f. 229.)	To the dean of Lichfield, the archdeacon of Norwich, and John de Northwode, canon of Lincoln. Mandates to carry out the ordinances touching apostates in regard to Roger de Worfeld, monk of Worcester, who, having left the order of St. Benedict, now desires to be reconciled thereto.
Ibid.	To the dean of Lichfield, Richard Thormerton, canon of Exeter, and John Petri, canon of Salisbury. The like in regard to John Russell, lay brother, of Witham, in the diocese of Bath, who, having left the Carthusian order, desires to be reconciled thereto.
