Absolution and relaxation of suspension from the sentence of excommunication incurred by them four years ago in opposing Raymund, cardinal of New St. Mary's, since deceased, to whom the pope had given the priory of Okeburne, in the diocese of Salisbury, which belonged to them; with dispensation on account of irregularities incurred by them during the said period.

2 Non. Mar. Vienne. (f. 23d.)	To John, eldest son of Arthur, duke of Brittany. He is deputed, subject to his uncle's consent, to take the place of his father in setting out for the Holy Land. John, duke of Brittany, John's grandfather, left a sum of money to be spent by his sons Arthur and John on the crusade, but Arthur is now feeble, and also hindered by business of king Edward.
Kal. Feb. Vienne. (f. 21.)	To John de Pinibus, sacristan of St. Michael's, La Reole (de Regula), in the diocese of Bazas. Indult to enjoy the fruits of his benefices, namely, a canonry and prebend of Southwell, and the church of Drimerston, in the diocese of Worcester, for three years, being non-resident.

Dispensation to retain the same. Erpingham and Ripton together are valued at 34l. and Northcolinghem at 8l.

Statute establishing a university of scholars in Dublin, in whatever science and faculty, in which masters and scholars shall respectively teach and learn in the said faculties. The counsel and consent of the archbishop's suffragans is to be obtained. In the archbishop's petition, on which this statute is founded, it is stated that doctors and. bachelors in theology, and masters in grammar or arts, have no university of scholars in Ireland, West Scotland, or Norway, so that in these parts there are few literate persons.

Contirmation of the rectory of Lamore, in the diocese of Lincoln, value 17l. to which, on its voidance by the death of Valentine, he was instituted by John bishop of Lincoln, on the presentation of Peter de Torniaco, prior of Deerhurst, in the diocese of Worcester, but afterwards the abbot of St. Denys, Paris, asserted that the said priory was subject to him, and thereupon deprived and excommunicated the said prior.

He was rector of Ufforde, in the diocese of Lincoln, and was dispensed so as to hold another benefice value 30l. and, on resigning other benefices unlawfully held by him, rector of Lilleford in the same diocese. Ufforde had been declared to be of the value of 10l. when it was worth 5 marks more, and he had also obtained the church of Adele, in the diocese of York, which he resigned. Dispensation to retain Ufforde and Lilleford, and to accept another benefice value 30l. together with canonries and prebends of York and Ripon.
7 Kal. Mar. Vienne. (f. 211.)	To the abbot and convent of St. Mary's le Bec, in the diocese of Rouen. Grant of certain priories in that diocese, and in Evreux, in consideration that so much of their property lies in England, whence by reason of the wars between the two realms it is of little use to them.

Provision of the canonry, prebend, and archdeaconry of Oxford, in the church of Lincoln, void by the death of Master Gilbert de Segrave, who died at Chateau St. Symphorian, in the diocese of Lyons, less than two days’ journey from Vienne, where the pope then was; with dispensation to him to hold the precentorship of Chichester and other benefices out of England.

6 Id. June. Groseau. (f. 222d.)	To Roger de Wingefeld. He, by a dispensation given by the abbot of Waltham, by papal faculty, at the request of Aymer de Valentia, earl of Pembroke, to two of his clerks to hold benefices to the amount of 200 marks, obtained the rectories of Wetheryngsete and Sutton, in the diocese of Norwich, in addition to that of Brynton, in the diocese of Lincoln. Roger when nominated was not a clerk of the said earl, and he received little from the two benefices, the bishop of Norwich claiming the first year's fruits. The taxed value of the three does not exceed 62l. 13s. 4d., but the true value exceeds 200 marks. Dispensation to retain the same.
8 Id. Aug. Groseau. (f. 222d.)	To Bertram de Verduno, successively rector of Boseworth, value 60l. and of Lutterworth, value 20l. in the diocese of Lincoln. Dispensation to accept an additional benefice value 40 marks.

He having been excused by reason of his age from coming to the council, and it having been asserted that, as he could ride about in England, his not coming to the council was a piece of contumacy, for which he incurred ecclesiastical sentences, the pope declares that his absence is allowed for whatever cause, and that the said sentences do not affect him.
