Mandate to dispense Robert Semple (Simplex), priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, present at the Roman court, so that he may hold the church of Rath (Raith), in the said diocese, void by reason that Richard Sivale has obtained the deanery of Glasgow, and collated to him by David, king of Scotland, notwithstanding that he obtained the same by paying money to the said Richard, seeing that he did this and other unlawful acts to save his rights and his life, since Richard forcibly held the church, and Robert was put in fear of his life by Gilbert Conheran, who was presented by Robert Steward of Scotland, to whom the rights did not belong.

Faculty to keep two of his monks of his church, chosen by him, at an university, and supply them with necessaries from his episcopal income, notwithstanding that the said monks, like the rest, have been created by the prior, and are under his obedience.

Mandate to inform himself whether Robert de Merstone, priest, was unjustly despoiled of the rectory or preceptory of the hospital of St. Wulstan, Worcester, and, if so, to replace him therein, restoring to him the fruits thereof meanwhile received, and removing therefrom Peter Francisci, intruded by bishop Wulstan.
5 Kal. May. Pont de Sorgues. (f. 410.)	To the bishop of Lincoln. Mandate, on petition of Master Simon de Islep, reetor of Horncastle, to ascertain whether the fruits, rents, and profits of the said church, with annexed chapels, amounting to 77l. 6s. 8d. have been so lessened by barrenness of the land, lack of cattle, lessening of the population, and chiefly by over-taxation, so that the net amount deducting at least 40l. for charges of the said church, is no, enough to support the rector, and enable him to practise due hospitality. If this is so, the taxation is to be reduced to a moderate sum.
