Signification to O. bishop of Lincoln of the royal assent to the election of William de Brackele, monk of St. Mary's Luffeld, to be prior of that house.

Power, during pleasure, to John Giffard, or the person supplying his place at Buelt, to receive into the king's peace those Welsh of Buelt and the parts adjacent who are willing to come in.

The like to Humphrey de Bohun, earl of Hereford and Essex, to receive the Welsh of Brighenengh.

Memorandum that letters close are directed to the above persons under the king's privy seal and enrolled in the wardrobe.

Notification that the king, in sending Roger le Bigod, earl of Norfolk and marshal of England, together with William de Valencia, earl of Pembroch, the king's uncle, to South Wales on the king's expedition against his Welsh rebels, and in appointing Roger de Molis as marshal of his army on that expedition during pleasure, intends no prejudice to the earl marshal either in sending him from his side into those parts or in appointing the above marshal, and that the same shall not be drawn into a precedent.

Protection with clause volumus, for as long as they are on the king's service, for the sailors, mariners and others of Great Yarmouth, going on the king's service to sea and by the sea coasts with William de Leyburn, captain of all such sailors, or with John Buteturte, sub-captain, and whose names either of the latter send to the chancellor.

Pardon to Eudo de Cotesford of his outlawry for non-appearance before the justices at Westminster in a plea of trespass against the king and Hugh de Louthre, Thomas son of Master William de Goldington, and John son of the said Thomas, provided that within twenty days he surrender to Appleby gaol, co. Westmoreland.

Licence, after inquisition ad quod damnum made by the sheriff of Devon, for Robert Makerel of Hermerdon and Joan his wife to enfeoff Nicholas de Warrewyk, king's serjeant, and Joan his wife of a messuage, a carucate of land and 14 marks of rent in Botesford and Plympton, co. Devon, as it appears that the same are held in socage by the sole service of 1d. a year of Hugh son of Hugh de Curtenaye, a minor in the king's custody.

Licence, after inquisition ad quod damnum made by Malcolm de Harle, escheator this side Trent, and at the request of Isabella, late the wife of John de Vescy, for William Payforer to enfeoff John de Northwode and Joan his wife of the manor of Wychiling, together with the advowson of the church of the same, and also of a messuage, a mill, a carucate of land, 60 acres of wood and 40s. rent in Frethensted, held in chief. This is not to the king's loss, as there remains to the said William the manor of Lollingestone, held in chief.

Pardon to the prior and brethren of the house of St. Margaret without Mariebergh for entering a messuage and 40 acres of land in Lokerigg, and another messuage in the same town whereof they were enfeoffed respectively by charters of Philip le Fraunceys and Richard le Eyr, and licence for them to hold the same in mortmain. Licence, after inquisition ad quod damnum made by Nicholas Pecche, keeper of the forest of Recchuche, for Henry de Urtiaco, who is going to Gascony on the king's service, to sell 60 acres of his wood of Bradeweye, within the metes of the said forest in an angle of a wood called La Dyngge, and to assart and bring the same into cultivation, and enclose it with a small dyke and low hedge so that deer can get in and out.
