Thropp Mountvell.
31. Wm. Gyffard to Cecill. A claim has been made on the part of the Princess Elizabeth to the woods sold by him in Colleweston and Apthorpe. Will pay the proceeds to Laurence Lee.

32. Cardinal Pole to Warwick. Has written to Protector Somerset, and offers to give further information for the benefit of the realm.

33. Somerset to the Vice Chancellor, &c., of the University of Cambridge. Concerning the Commission for visiting the University. Lat.

Westminster.
34. The King to the same, urging them to forward the Commission for visiting the University. Attested by the Commissioners. Lat. [Much uncertainty exists as to the exact day on which Sec. Smith received his Knighthood. In this letter he is styled a Knight, which he certainly was not on the 17th of Jan. 1549, as appears by the Minute of Council on that day, where he is called "Thomas Smith esquier."]
