Dec.5. Petition from Thomas Willoughbye, read and entered, concerning the farm of the Excise of co. Lincoln, for which he contracted, but by reason of the plague in London, could not pay in his advance, his successor in said farm, Mr. Langly, having also failed in his performance of his contract. With Treasurer Southampton's minute: "if the petitioner putt in good security being so generally recomended let it be granted him." [Ibid.p. 97.]
Dec. 8. The memorial from the Excise Office, read and entered, forwarding the salary bill of their office for Xmas quarter, detailed (total 876l. 6s. 3d.). Ordered: allowed of. [Ibid.pp. 102–3.]
