Same to the Surveyor General of Crown Lands of the petition of Aubrey, Earl of Oxford, shewing that the King about three years since granted him the Old Spring Garden, near St. James's Park; that Sir Robert Southwell entered a caveat claiming the said ground or a part of it, whereupon petitioner did not proceed in his grant: therefore praying to be referred to the Attorney General, so that his claim may be made out and that he may proceed in his patent. Prefixing: (a) Order of the King in Council, dated Whitehall, April 5 inst. On the Admiralty Lords' report on the petition of several merchants of London and the West country concerned in the Newfoundland fishery, praying leave to send thither 16 ships with 114 seamen and 114 landsmen and boys, it is hereby ordered that the said 16 ships as in the list hereto [missing] be granted such leave, notwithstanding the embargo.
The Treasury Lords to the Lords Justices, Ireland. We have yours of the 6th March last in reply to ours of Feb. 13 last, concerning the custodiam estates directed to be set to James Tisdale. We will lay same before the King with the first opportunity and meanwhile request you to direct the Commissioners of Inspection not to set any part thereof to any other person pending the King's pleasure. Treasury reference to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of Richard Gotley of Bristol, merchant, shewing that 3,998l. 16s. 4d. is due to him for the Transport service, that he is sued by the said Com missioners for 855l. 10s. 0d. duties on tobacco; therefore praying that same may be allowed out of said debt. Massereene, together with the report [missing] of Sir Richard Levinge, Solicitor General of Ireland, and Visct. Privy seal for 600l. per an. to Robert Cole, esq., as Agent and Consul General at Algier, to commence from the day of his delivering his letters credential, to that Government: to be payable quarterly, the first quarter in advance: with the usual clause, for allowance of his extraordinaries. April 13. Treasury warrant to the Clerk of the Pipe for a lease to Sir Robert Davers of premises ut supra, pp. 434, 497, for 29 years from 1695, Sept. 29, or other sooner determination of Sir Thomas Bond's lease at 10s. per an. rent and fine of 500l.: the premises being 220 foot by 24 foot abutting north-west on the Stables belonging to Denmark House and south-east on the Thames, near the Duchy House in the Savoy. (Entry of the Treasury Lords' signature 1694,? June 22, of the docquet of this lease.) Warrants not Relating to Money XIV, pp. 280, 307.
April 14. Royal warrant to the Clerk of the Signet for a privy seal for 600l. per an. to Peregrine Bertie, Vice Chamberlain of the Household; which the King is pleased to allow him over and above the other ancient profits of that place: to be payable quarterly from Lady day last during pleasure. (The privy seal hereon is dated April 26.) King's Warrant Book XVII, p. 404.
Same to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal for a discharge as follows to Sir James Shaen, William Rider, Edward Richbell, Lawrence Stanyan, John Gourney and Thomas Sheridan and the heirs etc. of William Hill, Thomas Hoare, Francis Sonne, William Muschamp and Stanhope Mill from the debt of 33,660l. 3s. 3 4/1d.: they being by indenture of 1678, April 8, constituted Farmers of the Revenue of Ireland under terms as therein: and the said Richbell and Stanyan having (pursuant to the privy seal of 1690–1, Jan. 31) passed an account thereof, which was declared before the Treasury Lords 1691, Oct. 29, which account showed said Farmers as indebted to the Crown in the above; aid sum: and in behalf of said Farmers aid Richbell and Stanyan have craved further allowances for sundry reasons and matters not yet fully considered and have desired that so much thereof as will countervail said debt may be accepted and allowed: whereunto the King is pleased to condescend and agree and therefore hereby orders a complete discharge as above of said sum. Same to John Richards, gent., and to the Treasurer of the Chamber for the time being, to pay Dr. Walter Harris, one of the physicians in ordinary, 93l. 10s. 0d. for his service and demands to 1693, Sept. 29: and 250l. per an. from the said date for his salary as one of the King's physicians: to be paid quarterly as other the King's servants payable in the Office of the Treasurer of the Chamber. April 14. Money warrant for 200l. to Edward, Visct. Villiers, Keeper of their Majesties' Park called Hyde Park; for the wages etc. of the underkeepers and the person attending at the gate and also for hay and beans for the deer: all for one year to 1693. Henry Guy to Mr. Shales, enclosing an account [missing] from the Navy Commissioners of money received and paid by the Navy Treasurer between March 22 and 31 last: and likewise an account [missing] from the Navy Treasurer of payments to ships between the 1st and 7th inst. Treasury dormant warrant to the Customs Cashier to pay the salary of 62l. 13s. 4d. per an. to Cha. Segar, gent., as one of the Customers of Southampton port. Ibid, p. 102.
Treasury reference to the Attorney General of the petition of Ralph Hardwick of London, merchant, shewing that James II granted in the 4th year of his reign to Archibald Duglas, since deceased, the Forest or Chase of Arkingarthdale, alias New Forest in Arkingarthale, with divers messuages etc. for 51 years: that said Duglas in pursuance of a trust reposed in him by petitioner did by indenture dated 1688, July 20, assign to petitioner a third of the premises: that the possession thereof was, by the grant, to be recovered in seven years, but the possession thereof being in Theodore Bathurst. a member of the House of Commons, the widow of said Douglass and one Hill have obtained a reference for enlargement of time for said recovery, but deny to let petitioner have anything to do therein therefore praying that his case may be stated by the Attorney General Reference Book: VII, p. 41
April 14. Treasury reference to the Customs Commissioners of the petition of Roth Peterman for leave to surrender his office of a King's waiter, London port, to Samuell Tomlins, gent., petitioner intending to retire into the country for his health. Reference Book VII, p. 42.

Royal warrant to the Attorney General to acknowledge satisfaction upon record of the judgment against Robert Etherick in the Exchequer in Trinity term, 2 Wm. and Mary, whereby he was convicted of transporting wool on the false testimony of James Writtle: the King being pleased to remit the Crown moiety of the forfeiture of 198l. all on the Treasury Lords' report on the case.
