King present.
This Day the King was present; and commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to give Notice to the House of Commons, that they should come and attend Him.
The Commons with their Speaker being come up, His Majesty made a short Speech, and then commanded the Lord Chancellor to deliver His Mind further, who accordingly did in a large Speech.
The Titles of these Bills following were read, by the Clerk of the Crown:
Bills passed.
"An Act for removing and preventing all Questions and Disputes concerning the Assembling and Sitting of this present Parliament.
"An Act for putting in Execution an Ordinance mentioned in this Act.
"An Act for the Continuance of Process and Judicial Proceedings."
Then the Clerk of the Parliaments pronounced the Royal Assent, by Command of His Majesty, in these Words,
"Le Roy le veult."
Speaker appointed, in the Absence of the Chanc.
The Lord Chancellor being this Day to sit in the Chancery, the House appointed the Earl of Manchester to be Speaker pro Tempore.
Order for printing the Acts.
ORDERED, That these Three Bills now passed be delivered to His Majesty's Printer, by the Clerk of the Parliaments, to be printed, and to be returned to him again safely.
Parkinson, &c. for treasonable Words.
A Complaint was presented to this House, concerning treasonable Words spoken by Francis Parkinson, and divers Misdemeanors committed by others:
It is ORDERED, That the Witnesses whose Names shall be delivered in shall be summoned to attend this House To-morrow Morning, to give in their Testimony.
Committee of Privileges to consult the Judges.
The Earl of Northumb. reported from the Committee for Privileges, "That they find an Act, concerning which their Lordships must advise with the Judges and the King's Counsel; for which their Lordships have appointed Monday next in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock."
Adjourn.
