Lord Hay introduced:

As also, George Hay Esquire, being, by Letters Patents, dated Tricesimo Primo Die Decembris, Decimo Annæ Reginæ, created Baron Hay of Pedwarden, was, in his Robes, introuduced, between the Lord Weston and the Lord Boyle (also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, and Clarencieux officiating for Garter King at Arms, carrying the said Letters Patents, preceding. His Lordship presented the same to the Lord Keeper, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who gave them to the Clerk; which were read at the Table.

The Lord Treasurer acquainted the House, "That the Lords with White Staves having (according to Order) presented to Her Majesty the Address of this House, of the Twenty-second of December last; Her Majesty was pleased to give this Gracious Answer; (videlicet,)

Queen's Answer to the Address concerning a Peace.

"The Assurances I gave, at the Opening of this Session, were sufficient to convince every one, that I would not send My Plenipotentiaries, without giving them the Instructions desired by this Address."

Her Majesty's Message to adjourn.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That he had a Message from Her Majesty, under Her Royal Sign Manual; which Her Majesty had commanded him to deliver to this House; and his Lordship read the same, as follows:

"ANNE R.

"Her Majesty having Matters of great Importance to communicate to both House of Parliament; it is Her Majesty's Pleasure, That this House should forthwith adjourn itself to Monday Sevennight, the Fourteenth of this Instant, January.

"St. James's, the 2d January 1711."

Then, it being proposed, "To adjourn the House;"

And a Debate arising thereupon:

The Question was put, "Whether this House shall be now adjourned till Monday Seven-night, Twelve a Clock?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
