A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Foley and others:
Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act declaring the Rights and Liberties of the Subjects; and settling the Succession of the Crown;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

Address to the King, for the Committee for Inspections to peruse the Council Books of K. Charles the Second, and James the Second, concerning the Prosecution of L. Russel, Col. Sydney, & al.; Quo Warrantos, Dispensing Power, &c.
The Earl of Stamford reported, "That the Committee for Inspections are of Opinion, that an humble Address be made from this House to His Majesty, that He will be pleased to give Order, that the Committee may have Leave to peruse and inspect the Council Books of the Reign of King Charles the Second, and the late King James; and that if any of the Clerks that were then employed be now in His Majesty's Service, that they may have Leave to attend this Committee, in order to their Examination."
ORDERED, That this House agrees with the Opinion of the Committee; and made the ensuing Order:
"Upon Report from the Lords Committees for Inspections, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to desire Him from this House, that He will be pleased to give Order that the Committee may have Leave to peruse and inspect the Council Books of the Reign of King Charles the Second, and the late King James; and that if any of the Clerks that were then employed be now in His Majesty's Service, that they may have Leave to attend the Committee, in order to their Examination."

The Earl of Shrewsbury acquainted the House, from His Majesty, "That the Lord Griffin hath been detected for keeping Correspondence with the King's Enemies, and is committed to The Tower."

ORDERED, That the Thanks of this House be given to the Lord Bishop of Salisbury, for his Sermon preached Yesterday before this House, in the Abbey Church at Westminster; and his Lordship is hereby desired to print and publish the same.
Presgrave versus Sherman.
Whereas this Day was appointed for Thomas Sherman Senior, and Thomas Sherman Junior, to appear, upon the Complaint of William Presgrave, to answer the putting him out of Possession since the Order of this House of the 28 of October last; upon Examination thereof, it appearing that Thomas Sherman was in Possession of the House in Question on the 24th of October, but notwithstanding that, the Wife of William Presgrave was continued until after the said Order of this House:
It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Possession of the said House of William Presgrave shall be restored, so as to be in the same Condition it was at the making of the Order (fn. 2) of the 28 of October last, and no otherwise; whereof the said Thomas Sherman and his Agents are to take Notice, and yield Obedience hereunto accordingly.
Beaple versus Gay.
Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Beaple; praying, that his Cause, which was appointed to be heard To-morrow, may be put off to another Day:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause, wherein Tho. Beaple is Plaintiff, and Martha Gay Defendant, on Tuesday next, being the 12th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Tho. Beaple is to cause Notice to be given to the said Martha Gay, to the End she attend with her Counsel accordingly.
Belbin versus Malden & al.
Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Nicholas Belbin is Plaintiff, and John Malden and William Freeman and others are Defendants:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause on Friday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
