Coll. 18 Aug. 1290 (Reg. I f. 353b). At the same time preb. Milton Ecclesia was formed out of a part of Aylesbury (ibid.). (fn. 1)

Thomas Grandison 1306-1307.

Adm. 16 Feb. 1306 on strength of prov. Richard Havering claimed it 24 Feb. 1307 on strength of prov. and Grandison vacated it upon obtaining preb. Haydour-cumWalton (A.C. A2/21 f. 16).

M. Richard Havering or Hathering 1307-?

Claimed it 24 Feb. 1307, instal. 8 Aug. 1309 (A.C. A2/21 ff. 13b, 14, 14b, 16).

M. Robert Baldock D.C.L. 1320-?

Gaillard de la Motte Card. dcn. of S. Lucia in Orthea. 1324.

Royal gr. to Robert Baldock 5 June 1320 by reason of the vac. (CPR. 1317-1321 p. 453). The king did not recognize the portioning off of preb. Milton Ecclesia and tried to dislodge Card. Gaillard de la Motte, its prebendary. A judgt. for Baldock obtained in the royal cts.; the card. took the matter to the church cts. (CPR. 1317-1321 pp. 559, 578, 601; CCR. 1318-1323 p. 538). However on 17 Sept. 1324 the card. was allowed to enjoy prebs. Aylesbury and Milton Ecclesia together for life (CPR. 1324- 1327 p. 36).

M. Simon Islip Lic. Cn.& C.L. ?-1340.

Royal gr. to Edmund Bereford 11 Feb. 1329 by reason of the vac. in the last reign (CPR. 1327-1330 p. 358). Robert Stratford prov. 11 Oct. 1328 (CPL. 11 283), adm. by bp. 2 Dec. 1330 (Reg. IV f. 403), had royal conf. 1331 and 1334 (CPR. 1330-1334 p. 53; CPR. 1334-1338 p. 8). Bp. of Chichester 1337.

Bereford then renewed his claim and Simon Islip seems to have succeeded to Stratford's. Exch. 14 May 1340 by Islip of this preb. with Bereford for preb. Welton Beckhall (Reg. IV f. 414). Royal gr. to Bereford 11 July 1342 by reason of the vac. (CPR. 1340-1343 p. 481). Occ. 10 Dec. 1348 (Reg. IX f. 282b).

M. Philip Beauchamp D.C.L. ?-1371.

Peter de Vergne Card. dcn. of S. Maria in via lata ?-1387.

Occ. yearly Sept. 1378-Sept. 1387 (Linc. Accounts Bj/2/7 lists, s.a.). But the fruits of the preb. were in the king's hands, because the card. was in rebellion against the pope, from 28 Jan. 1378 (CCR. 1377-1381 pp. 186-7).
